Would not go on MSC again. Lots of communicatin issues with staff. Service was horrible throughout. Bar service was slow. Main dining room service was horrible. Ship design was not great. Entertainment was repetitive.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy and quick since we are gold members
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Service was terrible in main dining room. Food portions were small. Food was just okay. Buffet was good.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
pool games were okay. But give-a-ways were chincy. drink service by pool was non-existent.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
entertainment was the same singing and dancing every night but to different music. Got boring.
No comedians, magicians, etc in main theater. Experienced the same thing on last MSC 7 day cruise.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Room steward was very good, but I tipped him the first day. Dining room was a mess. The assistant maitre de actually served us the second night since it was so bad. Too many issues to mention here.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was clean. But poor design. No shade at main pool. No bathrooms at main pool. You had to go in by the elevators to use restrooms. Atrium area was beautiful. But they had entertainment there each night. NO seating. You had to stand the entire time. No where to put drink if you wanted to participate. Bad design. Elevators were horrible. Only ship I have been on (26 cruises) in which there were times when NO food was available. Buffet was only option and it closed between lunch and dinner. Main dining room was closed during embarkation. Had to go to buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
room was typical balcony. No issues. This time we got tissues in the cabin. Most people had to ask for them.
Ship tip
if you only have to go 3-4 floors, take the stairs if able.
I did a MSC cruise in Jan and had a great time with great food and entertainment, so I guess it all personal preferences. Some people can't be made happy while others go with the glow and have a great time.
MSC doesn't provide tissues randomly. On some ships wash cloths are an oddity because many countries don't use them as standard. It's a North American thing. Sorry your cruise was lacking. MSC is just not right for you since it's an Italian cruise line. And things are done differently especially at USA ports. Thanks for your review.
