It was our first ever time cruising on the MSC. Prior to now, we average about 3 cruises each year to different parts of the world. I had brought my family members along and were a group of 8, ranging in ages from 5 years old to 71.
To be perfectly honest, we probably would not consider this cruise line again for our future cruises. It truly left a lot to be desired. We were disappointed at the quality of the drinks and liquor they serve. The noise level throught the ship was intolerable. The layout of the Buffet dining area was weird, lengthy and hard to negotiate. Overall, this would not be our preferred choice.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Average. Long waiting lines to the registration desk in the Port of Miami plus long walk from there to the ship (Seashore).
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
After our first days, we realized and accepted the fact that the food was inconsequential. Nothing to rave about HOWEVER the dedicated service by our waiters was phenomenal.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Dancing lessons by the pool and Trivia.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The theater entertainment used all the talent on board; in other words, unlike other cruises this MSC cruise line did not bring aboard performers from outside the ship. At certain times, the acts seemed repetitive. The Cruise Director left a lot to be desired.
Children's Programs
My daughter and her husband took their children to these type of children's activities. I did not.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters: JOSEPH JR. and GENESIS were great. Also ALFREDO our room steward.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The areas were the TRIVIA and other activities were held in the middle of a hallway with people passing by on either side holding loud conversations. This became disruptive and very difficult to hear.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
No complaints. It was great!
Ship tip
it is 2 notches above Carnival and 2 notches below Celebrity cruises.
The duration of our tour Dunn's River Falls and Reggae Hill was much to long. The stay in Reggae Hill became a bore with nothing to do there but wait a very long time for our bus to arrive.
We sailed on her but in the Yacht Club. Try that for your next MSC cruise. It was an amazing experience. Though I agree I missed a comedy club and outdoor movies that other lines have.
