Review summary

A couple of years ago we read reviews of MSC that were never flattering, until someone reviewed the Yacht Club and how different treatment and food was compared to outside the YC. So we gave the YC a shot and now we are not looking back and are booking up our future with MSC YC.

Embarkation

Best yet. Yacht Club guests can check in at Terminal F at any time. Drove to Port and did not make the mistake many in YC make of pulling into the first unloading spot for non suite passengers. About 500' further down past the white fenced in construction area was the white tent tops of the YC check in. Pulled up and asked the YC reps what Terminal would the Seashore be returning to? He said definitely this same Terminal F (not Terminal C 1 1/4 miles away). Then my second question. Where do you recommend I park? His reply was Parking Garage G another 500' to 1000' further down the road across the street. $154.00 for 7 days, grab a ticket when one enters and attendants at exit gate to collect on day of return. Walked back to white tent tops in 15 mins after parking car in Garage G. Left DW with $40 to tip porter at white tent top to make sure our luggage was 'properly' placed on board. Immediately greeted at white tent top by a YC escort to inside the Terminal F to the far left to be nasal swabbed. walked over to sectioned off seating to wait for results. Did not sit near anyone for fear of being contact traced. What seemed like just 5 minutes our results were back and we were escorted to YC check-in table. Key cards and tracer/card watch-like presented which guests can use to open doors and charge purchases. We were again met by a YC escort up some stairs (escalator was not in service) and onto ship to the Topsail lounge to wait for our cabin to be available. A Top Sail butler offered to take our carry on luggage to our cabin as lunch was to be served at noon, only minutes away. The whole process was fastest we ever had even with the nasal test. il

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Took all our meals in the Yacht Club restaurant. Food is a very personal item for everyones differing palates, suffice to say we gained weight on this 7 night cruise. Most appreciate that the YC restaurant is open when the ship is in port.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Did not partake of any activities. Was careful to always social distance. How does one expect to rate something they did not partake in ?, So we will rate it 5 stars because everything else we took part in was 5 stars.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were more sophisticated and of 45 minutes every evening. No crowds for the last 9 months. Plenty of music venues to attend all evenings. International passengers starting to fly over to cruise.

Children's Programs

Do not travel with children, so not applicable to comment or rate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Fast, friendly service. YC has a greater number of staff to guest ratio. One could not walk 10' without having a waiter or butler ask where or what one desired.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Super clean with lots of glitz and glamour.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We splurged and took an OS. The view was from the front of the ship. The balcony was off to the side. A complimentary cabana is provided on the exclusive YC pool deck, pick one on the opposite side of the ship than ones cabin.

Ship tip

Be prepared to be spoiled. Future Cruise Consultant has evening hours in the Top Sail Lounge and they have the power to fix status that MSC phone operatives don't know how.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Live one hour away.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Worth the trip. The exclusive YC area and Ocean House, reminds one of the colonial days in Singapore. Lunch on the terrace, just feet away from the breaking surf on the rocks, the azure seas, the coconut palms swaying in the Caribbean breeze, is what dreams are made of.

Disembarkation

Our YC butler escorted us off exactly at 7 am when the ship cleared. We collected our bags which were all off waiting. Our exit from Terminal F was even closer to Garage G than when we boarded.
