Review summary

MSC is by far the best cruise line I have sailed with. I will be cruising with them again, and I would even cruise this ship again! Everything was well thought out, the staff was amazing, the entertainment thorough. There was enough to do to keep you busy, but not so much that it was overwhelming.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Painless and simple! Most of the check-in process can be done online prior to the cruise which is great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Buffet is massive with tons of options! They even have a kid specific area. Plenty of seating in the buffet area as well. Main dining was great! They even offered breakfast in the main dining areas for a more personalized breakfast experience throughout the cruise.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Amazing selection of pools for any age to enjoy! The fitness center is well up to date, but too small to accommodate all the passengers. They should possibly think about having a time slot sign up for the fitness center.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage shows put on by the staff members were adequate. But the best shows of hired entertainers were the best! This comment only applies to the shows in the main Chora Theatre, I did not attend shows in any other venue.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
If I could give extra stars I would! All the staff was amazing throughout the trip. I have zero complaints!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was hands down the best ship ever!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice size closet, enough space throughout the cabin to truly settle in during your stay. When we requested service, I was impressed with the attention to detail of the cleaning!

Ship tip

Sign up to eat dinner at the early (5) time slot so you don't have to miss evening activities!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

It's fine. Very very busy port. We did not participate in any excursions.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Best port I have ever visited! Had I known how amazing it was, I would not have booked an excursion! Though the excursion was also my favorite of the trip. Respectful and helpful locals.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

The excursion was the best part of this port. The port itself is dismal and nothing but folks selling low quality goods from tents. Also there is no respect for staying out of peoples personal space with selling taxis and tours.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Tons of shopping within walking distance. Other than that you would need to take a taxi, which are overpriced and scary to ride in. We took an excursion to Coral World, which was overpriced. You can get through the free areas of Coral World in an hour to an hour and a half. So if you do go, I would plan on doing one or two of the extra (additional cost) activities. Additionally, the walk to the beach from Coral World is about a mile which they fail to mention in the excursion booking.

Disembarkation

Super easy and well organized by MSC!
