Review summary

If you ate lunch at noon and were scheduled for the second dinner, it would be 9 hours before you got to eat anything. There were no open coffee, tea, and water bars. You were charged for anything you drank at dinner whether it was coffee, water, beer, etc. There was very little cruise line entertainment. I could not wait to get off the ship. The work out room was very limited. There were 13 bars and they were empty most of the cruise. What a waste of space!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The English intrepretations of food items lacked terribly. Their idea of a shrimp cocktail was very tiny pieces of shrimp with an orangish dip on 2 shreds of lettuce.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Very little entertainment during the day. No events for Americans because the few poolside games they did were only in Italian. I really wish that I had gone on the Princess Cruise ship.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Most of the staff was fairly nice but the people on the ship were very rude to Americans. The cost of the cruise previously billed you for tips and services, but they still added an 84 Euro extra tip for room maids at the end of the trip.

Ports of call

Palermo, Sicily

Walked several blocks and there was nothing worth seeing. None of the excursions were really interesting.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Pompei was an excellent excursion. There wasn't much to do in the city of Naples.

Marseille (Provence), France

1 out of 5
Not a very interesting city. The excursions involved long bus rides. Not much worth seeing.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

3 out of 5
Went to the Dragon Cave. It could have been better but they did not interpret anything in English so we really weren't sure what was going on once it came time to choose the boat or the walk back. We had a 2 hour bus ride each way.

Barcelona, Spain

Walked through the city. This is a beautiful city. I am looking forward to going back there in a couple of years.
Don't Miss: Need to see the Gaudi buildings and church.

Pros: Newer ship

Cons: Charged for everything and very little food available.
