Review summary

We've cruised for many years and have sailed over 20 times with different lines. This was our first time on MSC. Overall, we were not super impressed. It seemed like the staff wasn't expecting a full ship on this Christmas sailing. Then, when things ran out, they said the ship is very full.

Embarkation

Great! It was very crowded, but the line kept moving. Tried to give check-in agent our completed health forms. They were not collecting them!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was wonderful! Buffet was poor. No one at entrance to tell people to wash their hands on the way in. Thumbs down on food quality. Ran out of coffee, creamer and mugs in the morning. Ran out of cookies every night by the time the show ended.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the pools and ropes course.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows in the Broadway Theatre were excellent!

Children's Programs

Don't have young children

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our waiters and room steward were both great. Most other staff members on the ship didn't know the answer to questions or just lied to us.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Beautiful ship and well maintained. Not too many hand sanitizers around.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The balcony cabin was clean and comfortable. Very little storage space for clothes (we had 3 people).

Ship tip

Join in on the dance parties!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Wanted to relax on ship.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Been there many times.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas Did not visit port

Ship was late arriving and it was very windy.

Disembarkation

Lots of people all at one time. Poor management by ship staff. We kept moving along with cruise staff and then port agents yelling directions. Thought it would be more organized.
