Review summary

Enjoyed a relaxing cruise onboard the MSC Meraviglia.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was very organized but very slow. A lot of the issues persisted from the storm and delayed disembarkation prior to our cruise. You could tell the port staff were working quickly and efficiently to get everyone onboard. However, we were with friends and we made the most of it. This terminal is also very small compared to Miami or Port Canaveral. Pack your patience and arrive at your designated time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
As always we had a great experience with the food and drinks onboard. We had one less than stellar experience at Butchers Cut but shared my feedback with the manager and chef. Our second experience was much better and the manager and chef personally greeted our group and assured us everything was resolved. Which it was.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

1 out of 5
I love MSC Cruises. I’m loyal to the brand. However, the entertainment shows onboard this ship are below standards of their other Seaside-class ships. Plus, they're changing their lineup to be more like other American cruise lines. Less Broadway style shows and more magic or comedy skits. We miss the amazing Italian singers, acrobatic routines and Broadway style entertainment. It’s like they force you to see the Carousel Lounge productions to see anything worthwhile.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were amazing as always! No complaints.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is beautiful as are all MSC ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This cabin is shareable with two other adjoining cabins. But only one was utilized by our group (10380). The cabin is comfortable and clean. The couch bed is actually very comfortable and no major complaints. The room steward was sure to ask about my preferences and I told him I would like it to be a couch during the day and bed at turn down service. He made sure it was done daily. The couch itself is showing some age and could use some new fabric but overall it’s great. The bathroom seems a little bit larger than a standard cabin. The shower was definitely a little bit larger as well. This particular cabin is on deck 10 so be expected to hear the Cirque style performances during evening and neighbors from adjoining doors.

Ship tip

Make sure to book your dining package and spa reservations once you get on board. Just because you booked these packages prior to boarding doesn’t mean you have a reserved time. Visit the areas as soon as possible for best chance on getting the times you prefer.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Still not my favorite port but their getting better since the port experience has improved. We enjoyed some local shops and such without the annoying taxi and tour operators once you step off the ship. Plus the new shade structures on the pier were great!

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Enjoyed our stop at Port Canaveral. Enjoyed a shuttle service offered by MSC to Disney World. Only was able to spend 3-4 hours actually at the park. Not necessarily MSC’s fault because I booked the cruise but I would of liked to see additional time spent here OR swap this port with one at Bermuda.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Beautiful as always. No complaints. Enjoyed our amazing cabana.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Was a breeze. Very quick and painless. Only took about 15 mins from getting in line to walking out of the terminal building.
