We enjoyed our first time with MSC. We have only cruised Carnival until this trip. It was beautiful and worth the fare. We missed the smiles of the Carnival staff. We loved being able to book an accessible cabin 2 weeks before embarking!
Embarkation

We were scheduled for 3:30 check in but our shuttle got us there early. No issue getting into Terminal 10 early. We used the elevators due to husband uses wheelchair. There was a special line for those using wheelchairs and scooters. We boarded immediately after check in.

Food and Dining

The food was good and many items to choose from. The only issue we had was getting them to assign us to a table my husband could access with his wheelchair. I had gone down early on the first afternoon but no one could help me. I had to wait in loooong line to get a new table. It was only a temporary assignment. We finally had to raise a stink to get the issue fixed. But this happens on every ship and every line. You have to fill out a Special needs form to book an access cabin. That information needs to be relayed to the dining room!!
The only places to get food was main dining room, buffet and specialty dining. No free venues like Guys Burger, Blue Iguana or the Deli. Pizza was yummy as was the soft serve ice cream by the pool.

Entertainment

Shows were the best! Dancing and singing was amazing. We did pay for 2 shows before cruising that were in the Carousel lounge. It included a cocktail or two. The first show Houdini was the best of the two. Plenty of seats if you book for regular shows on the screens all over the ship.

For the most part they were very helpful. Not very happy and smiling. Think they maybe overworked at times.
Ship Quality

The ship seems huge! Well it is actually lol. We stayed on the 13th floor by the Panaromic elevator. It is clean and well mainted. They are always wiping and scrubbing. The atrium with crystal staircases are breathtaking! The ever changing dome is beautiful. So much to see and enjoy!
Cabin / Stateroom

This was an wheelchair accessible inside cabin. It had a lot of floor space to move his chair around. The bathroom had many grab bars near toilet and shower had fold down seat and rollin in accessibility. There was lots of room to unpack and be organized. I did bring a over the door shoe holder and held it in place with magnets. There are shelves in the bathroom for toiletries by the sink.
The walls are magnetic so my clips help my sun hat and paperwork we need to keep up with.
Our room steward was awesome!
Only complaint……NO KLEENEX! I asked for some and he said they had none so he left me extra rolls of toilet tissue…lol
Just beautiful! The whole island was amazing knowing is was a dump at one point! Wish we were on overnight so we could see lighthouse show….next time. Did not stay for lunch buffet so can’t comment.
We were sent a letter to meet others in wheelchairs. When we got there, they realized that my husband did not need to be escorted off ship as his chair is battery powered. So we were basically dismissed. I approached another person who directed us into a priority line and were off the ship asap…….but we had to wait for our luggage to come off. I think they did a great job of getting others off the ship and getting them their luggage. There were plenty of porters to help get our luggage and help us through customs and to our shuttle.
Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve had a great experience with MSC over the last year. They have a few differences Americans find odd since they are a European cruise line - no top sheet on the bed, no washcloths, no Kleenex (facial tissues), etc. These items are not commonly found in many European hotels either, apparently. You can usually get the cabin steward to add a top sheet and provide a wash cloth by asking.
