Review summary

It was my first cruise. I liked the ship and cruise line enough to rebook with them. I appreciate the customer service at American Airlines for helping me select the best package because it the cruise a delight for my husband and me.

The food was very good in the main dining room and the buffet. It was always fresh with plenty of options from many cultures.

Onboard Activities

We love the Thermal Room. We bought a week-long package and I highly recommend it for de-stressing. You go between 9 am and 9 pm. It was never overcrowded.

Entertainment

We attended the Broadway Shows every night. They were good.. more variety show than theatre but sweet and entertaining.

Service and Staff

Greeting by staff with a friend face and hello EVERYWHERE!! Very, very helpful when you asked them questions. The main dining staff efficiency varied depending on dinner or breakfast. We thought the breakfast staff was too slow so we opted to eat at the buffet for breakfast after Day 2.

Ship Quality

LOVE the ship! Absolutely beautiful design and decorations. Rooms are super clean. Main dining rooms are super clean. Once in a while you could smell order in the hall ways but not every day.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very nice room with plenty of space. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed the balcony!!! Our housekeeper kept everything very clean coming in twice a day.

Ship tip

Arrive early for check-in because the people who pushed the clocked waited in long lines.

We had no problem leaving and getting luggage. There was a wait but the ship had a section by section system and we just waited our turn.

Glad you enjoyed it. I had a great experience on Meraviglia as well. I think the issue with some people not liking the food is that they are wanting beef, potatoes, fried foods and MSC has more of a European menu, with more seafood (not fried), but still a good variety. MSC is adding more “American” options to the menus, including Pulled Pork BBQ, Meatloaf, Spare Ribs, Chicken & Waffles, etc.

I wonder if others who said the food choices were poor and repetitive really meant to say that they could not find their limited desires. I like what this reviewer said, lots of different cultures represented.
