I read not so great reviews before our trip. We decided that we make our own experience and usually enjoy our adventures. It was great with the exception of food and availability of onboard activities. We may try MSC again but probably not the Magnifica. It's a shame since it's such a beautiful ship.
I would rethink menus and entertainment. The things we wanted to see were always scheduled at the same time....dinner, show and lounge activities.

Buffett was ok. It was the same thing, every meal, every day. The lunch in the restaurant was great. But dinner in the restaurants wasn't fun in the least. It took too long, we wanted to be sat alone since it was a romantic trip. The food was mediocre at best.
Onboard Activities

It was too cold to use the pool but we did play ping pong the first day then the paddles were broken and balls missing, and there was nobody around to ask for more. There was not a lot to choose from otherwise.

The shows at night were great....except the comedian. The Circus show was amazing!

The ship was beautiful and clean. The dishes in the hallways after room service were left longer than I would have thought appropriate.
Cabin / Stateroom

12070! We were very pleased with our cabin and the unexpected upgrade. I read online that shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were supplied. There was no conditioner! I had to use body lotion instead.
Also our key cards stopped working and we had to have them replaced 3 times! That was not pleasant. My partner got locked out while I was in the shower and had to find out steward to let him in.
We was on the Magnifica back in Dec. The bad weather kept us at sea. After the first day the activities did get a little old. The Asian restaurant on board was awesome, to bad you didn't try that. Sorry your trip wasn't fully up to your liking. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your review. I always get room service on MSC and I noticed that after the pandemic they are extra slow (reduced staff) at removing the trays from outside your door including trash. I'm talking half the day would be gone and it was still sitting out there.
