Review summary

Love being on a cruise!! MSC is one of my favorite lines. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I did this 4-night back to back after the 3-night on Jan 26th, so they escorted us off the ship around 10 am and we got right back on board. Easy peasy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Went to dinner all four nights at the Main Dining Room, mostly just to meet up with the other solo cruisers at my table. The menu items for main courses were not my favorite, but I enjoyed the Caesar salad, some soups, and mostly all the desserts!! *The chicken and waffles dinner was delicious!! Went to the sit-down breakfast in the main dining room the last morning and had terrific service. Yummy Nutella French Toast (off the kids menu 😀). **

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I mostly just watched the games and activities out by the pool. They were very entertaining! Plus lots of families were playing ping pong. Some played pickleball, and some shuffleboard. The Entertainment Team, including Matias, the Cruise Director, were all very peppy and happy & energetic!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
A++++ Love MSC shows: the Elvis one was my favorite!! Great singers and dancers!! The Circus show was very cool. Musicians are always good on MSC ships. My faves this time were Igor & Zoran playing guitar and singing, mostly at the Sports Bar. Awesome evenings there!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My room steward took good care of me. Knew my name and would wave to me down the hallway. Waiters in the main dining room were a bit overworked, so service was a little slow. But they were as nice as could be! Plus, that gave us all time to gab. Guest Services lady I talked to was very nice and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I appreciate a smaller, “less new” ship. The decor is really cool, in my opinion. The venues for live music, shows, etc are good size to fit any crowds. Seemed to be clean everywhere I went, especially public restrooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Inside Cabin. Smaller than the Ocean View room I had just moved from. The fridge was not cold in this room. (it was freezing cold in the last room) Plenty of storage space. Regular sized bathroom.

Ship tip

Listen to the different musicians around the ship. And go to the shows in the theater.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

I usually go out on my own and totally enjoy the zoo (Ardastra Gardens), or Cable Beach, and grab some local food for lunch. But this time I booked an excursion through MSC, and it turned out to be a bust. They cancelled the 4 hours we were supposed to have at the beach due to bad weather. Cancelled the lunch too. Offered us 50% money back to just take a bus tour. Very disappointing, but oh well. Did not let it ruin my day.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
It’s beautiful- even when it’s not warm and sunny!! Love the cove beach area over by the Spa.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficient. It’s all spelled out: when to vacate your room, where you can sit and wait, what times each section of the ship can disembark.
