Had an absolute blast on... by sam50266

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Had an absolute blast on the ship. My fiancé and I are in our mid 20's and took my parents along (who are in their 50's and 60's), and we all had a great time. The food is awesome and all of the staff is extremely warm and helpful. So much to do on the boat with never ending options for activities throughout the day. My mom and I went to the spa and had wonderful facials and massages. The gym is perfect and there are a ton of fitness classes onboard for all levels of activity. Everything is reasonably priced, including drink packages bought before the cruise and excursions. I had been on a cruise previously with carnival and swore I would never cruise again, but MSC has completely changed my view of cruises. We definitely want to cruise with them again!

We've been on many (27) cruises and on different lines. This was our first with MSC we're a little worried after reading the review but it was great! The shows were so good. I would definitely cruise with MSC again. It is what you make it. We went with open minds and had a great time.

We booked a room in... by bbarnett

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

We booked a room in the Yacht Club area (YC3). There are only 2 of these rooms and boy are they nice. We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and even got our first experience with topless sunbathing. I thought my wife was going to die. The ship was extremely nice and in excellent shape in every way. The food was excellent but it was the Yacht Club special restaurant. If I had to ding them it would be the excursions. They got us to where we were going and it seemed like the guides just disappeared after that. If the opportunity arises make sure you try this cruise line and pick a Yacht Club room

Not suitable for asthmatics!! by Anb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've been on 20+ cruises and this is my second time on MSC Divina. Both times I've attended have been via a charter with Holistic Holiday at Sea. I greatly enjoy the lectures and accessibility to everything Plant-based with these groups which is why I came back for the second year.

I greatly enjoyed the first year and considered making this a yearly event. However, I'm now on for the second time, and my experience has been beyond horrendous. Our room has absolutely no air circulation and is incredibly stuffy. Having asthma, it's been a brutal experience for me, but the air quality is so poor that even my non-asthmatic mother can barely breathe and is swollen up with terrible allergies. Both of us have been increasingly miserable with each night we spend in the room.

To make matters worse, I've been having so many asthma attacks that I haven't been able to make it to eat. The cruise line will not deliver the specialty vegan meals to the room. Considering we paid 1800 per person for the speciality meals with the charter, this is incredibly disappointing. The customer service, or lack there of, is disgraceful.

I would love to attend Holistic Holiday at Sea again but will not attend any future trips as long as they are hosted with the MSC lines. I highly advise against booking any vacations with this cruise line.

Great Place to be! Very... by ProAdventurer57

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Great Place to be! Very fun and adventurous. Staff and captains were nice. May I suggest going for a larger cabin since ours was horrible! The food was good and separate restaurant for dinner was great. Buffet has excellent pizza I ate it everyday for lunch. Real authentic mozzerella and good Mexican crunchy 🌮! Great Cruise worth it but remember for the rooms and stay safe cruisers! Keep adventuring from Adventurer!!!

Superbe bateau, spectacles formidables mais... by Fred007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is great and... by kenlmhc

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

The ship is great and staff friendly. I was disappointed that on a 7 day cruise, lobster wasn't served at least once. Also, Americans are the minority on the ship. Beware, many if the Europeans are rude and disrespectful.

The food and drinks were... by Teamstrong

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

The food and drinks were included so can't complain too much😁 the shows were good the nightlife was about a 4 on a scale of 1-10. Most of the music was Spanish. Food not the best and we opted for buffet most of the time. Staff was okay there were some rude ones at times. We were pretty bored after 10pm drinks were okay they were free so....the ports were the best part of the cruise. Going to try carnival this time see if we have a better experience.

Wouldnt cruise MSC again by Teamstrong17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall I give the cruise 3 stars. My favorite part was the shows. The food was hit or miss there were some nights we didn't like any of the meals and went to the buffet where all the food was sandwiches. The pool decks were always crowded and was hard to get drinks. Mostly went to casino bar to get service because they were on top of things. The nightlife was all Spanish mostly we caught the crew having a party and could here they had a dj. Was kinda disappointing since we we paid for the cruise they should cater to everyone. They also charge for tips even when they don't deserve it. A lot of staff is very rude to Americans. The disembarkation is very disorganized you leave your room st 7am only to sit in the lobby until 10/11am when you can leave the ship. It was ridiculous. The ports were good but too short of time. Next time I will cruise Norwegian or carnival for more fun although MSC is building a new ship and porting till 12am on their own private island so that might be worth it but otherwise I wouldn't choose msc again

I absolutely loved The Divina.... by shannyboat70

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

I absolutely loved The Divina. I honestly have no complaints except for the buffet being a madhouse, the hot tubs were never hot & the lack of chairs for sunning but that was due to the inconsiderate guest who chair hogged by placing towels on the chairs to save them but never occupied them. The ship was beautiful & the entertainment team was amazing!! I will definitely sail MSC again!

It was ok. by gam33toronto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

firstly this is a European cruise. It is a little different from the other big companies like royal Caribbean or princess. The first language you hear is not English. The ship itself is nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. I think they still need to work on the food because it is a hit and miss. The service can be better. I was literally yelled at first day I went to breakfast at a restaurant cuz I was wearing a shirt between a tank top and a short sleeve. I mean. Can you just say things nicely?  Servers are nice but still not as friendly as other cruise lines. The shows are good but not as good as the other cruise lines. The singers are good but they are missing the highs and lows in the songs. So they are basically belting out their amazing vocals but it becomes too much. The productions lack flow. Nothing seems related. No story. Everything seems to be extra on the ship. And there's always not enough chairs at the deck.

Awesome ship and service by Harlyridr96

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Went with 4 Cples 3 in balcony cabins and my wife who is handicapped and uses a mobility scooter got a handicap balcony cabin , ,the reviews scared me,   But the ship was beatiful, , the service was totally awesome, especially towards ,y wife and her scooter , they couldn't be more helpful, even when we did the excursions they took her scooter to a secure area and returned it to us when the evcursion was over,I was worried we,d get on a sight seeing bus have to leave the scooter , on the street, the food selection was great the food was a good 4 star, but no disappointments, the buffet was a bit of a madhouse but the food was fresh hot and plentiful, the prices for sweets and dinners in the Eately were really reasonable

MSC Divina Feb 4, 2017 by goingplaces1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Favorite - 1) The ship was very clean - both public and private areas. 2) The staff from captain to cleaning personnel was very professional and courteous. 3) I asked our room attendant for extra towels to be left and he made sure we had extra towels every day.  4) Alcohol drinks were well made - no skimping! 5) Entertainment/activity staff was great and very energetic.

Not so favorite - 1) Food flavor was good but hot food temperatures were not hot enough. This was true in the buffet and even the restaurant. In the buffet, I placed my hand on the glass top where the hot plates were placed and they were warm at best. 2) Elevators: Seemed that most days at least 1 elevator was 'out of service' for some part of the day. 3) Difficult to find available chairs at the pool areas - people placed towels on the chairs and then went off to breakfast. This isn't the cruise ship personnel fault but they should enforce a rule of no reserving of chairs. 4) I was disappointed that on 'formal night', men were allowed to enter the restaurant without a tie and jacket.

Overall - A good value for the money and yes, we'd take another cruise with MSC. Culturally, the staff is European. We did not have a problem with the cultural differences. If you're not willing to accept different cultures, this is not a cruise line for you.

Beautiful Ship & Staff by GoingPlaces

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is beautiful and very clean I couldn't believe how clean the ship was. The staff and crew were all very friendly and most if not all the ones I talked to spoke a minimum of 3 languages. My only complaint and it's a big one for me. The food was lukewarm to cold in the black crab restaurant and in the buffet. My wife put her hand flat on the counter tops in the buffet were the food was and it was just about warm. The ship has been operating from 2015 so two years. They should have this under control by now and it shouldn't be an issue but it is.

... by cruise68

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

We were aboard Divina this past Feb 4 thru 11, 2017. We had somewhat high hopes but were quickly let down somewhat. Upon arriving onto the ship, we ran the gauntlet of dozens of staff members wielding drink tickets and other packages you could purchase. Shouting 'Drink tickets' etc. Not impressed. Even dear Carnival doesn't pull that stunt. Quickly found that this ship is a nightmare to navigate around, both back to front and up and down. Even after 7 days, we, along with many others, were still unable to get around easily. It's a beautifully decorated ship from public areas and dining rooms to staterooms. The sliding patio balcony doors were a huge plus point. I believe the ship had a CD. If we did, we never heard or saw him once. That's not good. Coming again from Carnival, their CDs become part of your cruise. You feel welcomed and appreciated. Not so MSC. Basically left to your own devices really. Talking of devices, the wifi was mediocre at best. The food was great, varied, tasty and hot. No warm or cold food as some others have said. He cold food was yogurt, desserts and fruit. As expected. Summing up, there is a lot more MSC could do to make it all less stuffy, boring and quiet. Have a CD that is actually present and have more going on at the same time in different venues. That would give you choice options instead of dead time between activities. When we left Nassau for instance, we counted about 20-25 people on the Lido deck as we quietly pulled away from port, leaving NCL Escape and Carnival Liberty in the midst of partying and music with light shows on their Lido decks. Very surprised that we just slipped away into the night with either of those two ships noticing probably. Based on this cruise, we might still give Seaside a shot and see if they've stepped up their game. If we don't, then Carnival will be hosting us again.
