I wouldn't mischaracterize this review as 'bad' or 'average'. It was a difficult time for everyone as most ships had already stopped cruising and our itinerary was completely changed at no fault of the MSC cruise lines or the employees!
We thoroughly enjoy cruising on MSC and look forward to many more... in fact we are scheduled for the Grandiosa in August 2020, but not sure if it will sail!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Excellent, as always!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was OK, nothing special but cruise ship dining rooms today are not what they were years ago. The buffet was pretty good as MSC usually does a nice job in their buffets! The one restaurant we did enjoy was the Sushi Restaurant! Our waiter, was fabulous and we went there twice to eat and we are not normally big on Sushi but he made it fun. I think his name was Fernando?? He reminded us of Agador Spartacus from The Birdcage!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The fitness center was standard and as far as other activities there weren''t a lot.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
MSC shows are not at the level of other ships but they were OK. The bar musicians were OK as well.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service was good, again nothing to crow about but it was good. We did have the bar tender in the wine bar that was above the average and went out of his way to service us as well as find wine from other bars if he ran out of what we liked. I couldn''t spell his name but we called him G!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
MSC usually does a very nice job of keeping a ship clean and this ship was no different from their others!
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had an Oceanview Stateroom and it was fine!
Ship tip
It is a nice ship for island hopping as there are not a lot of things to do onboard, waterslides, zip lines, mini golf etc. The Hot tubs are not great, warm not hot. The Garden Bar on the back of the ship was one really nice area! Great place to hang out there is a small pool and a nice bar
If you can't find something fun in Miami then you are on the wrong vacation! We walked around the Wynwood Area and had a great meal at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar.
We went to this Reserve twice because of the Corona issue and it is brand new with not many activities other than swimming at the beach. They charge to go up in the light house which is stupid! The light show at the lighthouse is pretty cool to watch in the evening though. In time hopefully it will be better.
Glad to read that overall you enjoyed your cruise experience. Sailed many times on the MSC cruise line. Enjoy both the Divina and the Meraviglia.
Thanks for sharing.
Hmmm! I pretty much agree with your review, but with the exception of the buffet and the hot tubs! The buffet wasn't that great, I thought the MDR was better, (hotter food) and the hot tubs by the pool with the retractable roof were excellent, nice and hot!
