Review summary

I was on the Divina on the Oct 15th sailing and I can tell you that I felt service was very poor as well. Very bad food overall. Not enough tables in the buffet area on Deck 14. Not enough pool chairs. They don't seem to care about service. Upon arrival we found two dirty shirts and a dirty pair of boxer shorts stuffed behind a life jacket on the top shelf of our closet...I threw them out onto the floor of the hallway. On the last night we found a dirty diaper in one of the elevators. I don't know if this reflects poorly on the ship or it's passengers. Probably the latter. A lot of pushing, shoving, cutting in line and general rudeness from the Europeans. Why MSC bothers stopping in bombed out Ocho Rios is a mystery to me. Even Margaritaville is in bad condition there. I'm avoiding MSC in future.

Dirty diaper in elevator by buffet. Not a garbage can to be found. Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. $5 for a bus from the pier to Calico Jack's. Nice theater. Five story high atrium.

Great how you know you pay a little more but you get a lot more

Gotcha. I'll research that. Thanks.

You know we had a mix of Europeans and Caribbean clientele but the yacht club is completely different

chirocop    8 years ago

The Caribbean clientele and European may make a difference too.

Oh yeah I really do think that if you were in the yacht club you would be raving about the experience

chirocop    8 years ago

Definitely sounds like it. I didn't know if it was due to the European venue or the ships, as the experience was similar on both MSC cruises. We returned a second time, as I said, due to the jam-packed itinerary. I would be willing to give them another chance. I hated sushi the first two times I tried it; now I go through withdrawal without it😊

Chirocop if you ever have the opportunity sale in the yacht club it is a vastly different experience

Ice machines there too.

Lots of free water in the buffet. We constantly filled our large thermos and put them in the fridge in our room.

You don't need to apologize for disagreeing. Your experience was obviously different than mine. We enjoyed the ports and excursions for the most part. What we didn't like included poor service, and a generally lower sense of courtesy and consideration among many passengers. Since children sailed free, there were 2 adults and several uncontrollable children in many cabins. We found the food was of poorer quality than we had seen on other lines. No free water, not even tap water. This I found odd and expensive.

Sorry to disagree but we were on the Davina twice this summer and had both excellent service food everything

Gotcha...bad service knows no boundaries.

Originally my review was a reply to a prior bad review by an African American from PA. I inserted that I was a white Canadian to let him know that poor service transcended all races with this ship.

chirocop    8 years ago

Ok, but I've never heard of racial/nationality profiling on a cruise. It might occur, I've just never heard of it before. I do agree, however, with some of the MSC issues you stated. I say MSC must stand for mean, stingy, cheap.

Good point.

Caucasian Canadian? Not sure how that factors in.
