Review summary

First time with MSC always cruised with P&O before. Endless announcements in multiple languages gets a bit dull after a while. Glad to say next 5 cruises booked already with P&O so normal service will resume soon! Well February 2020 to be exact. Chose this cruise as have teenage kids who say P&O ships are boring, so this cruise was really for them. We were super lucky with the weather and it was a great break. We would cruise with MSC again if the itinerary suited us, I would not say it was great value, 1 week 4 of us sharing a room over 4K but we did opt for Aurea level so got the free access to the spa and got the premium drinks package which was a god send! Sky lounge there version of the Crows nest, no atmosphere very quiet a real shame. Good experience but looking forward to slipping on my comfortable slippers aboard P&O.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR food fine for me, they struggled with my wife's allergy. Normally cruise with P&O who manage to cater much better to her needs. Restaurant table staff were excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Children's slides amazing, we all tried the high ropes course. Didn't take part in any pool games due to language barrier

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows in main theatre varied and singing good. We saw a CDS show it was excellent but lacked any storyline.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Children went to kids club but not impressed very little for the older teens to do and not many English speakers attended.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Can't complain everyone we delt with very helpful and smiley. Table waiter and cabin steward very good.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship very new and always being cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin fine for two but as we were a party of 2 adults and two teenage children it felt small. Not enough storage for 4 people had to use suitcases to store cloths. Zoe useless thank goodness we still get daily paper telling us what's on

Ship tip

Buy drinks package as drinks are expensive

Not everyone on cruise ships speak English. In order for all passengers to obtain messages it was probably necessary.
