Review summary

The ship, Monarch of the Seas, is a good ship for a cruise of this type. It was easy to find your way around. It was a clean and comfortable ship. You can tell it is not one of their newer ships but for a route like this to the Bahamas it is a perfect choice. The staff (everyone we met) is exceptionally friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent at all meal functions.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Some fo the entertainment was excellent and some was average, overall good. Times were appropriate for maximum flexibility.

Cabin / Stateroom

Good size room and plenty of places to unpack your belongs. The only thing I did not prefer was that our Deluxe Oceanview did not have a clear view. The lifeboats were not exactly blocking our view but they were part of the view. But we did not spend a great deal of time in the rooms anyways.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Must go and see Atlantis and participate in their Aquaventure. Overall though I would not go to Nassau.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Great island. We had a lot of fun snorkeling, walking, and relaxing. Loved talking to the folks who live on and care for the island.
Don't Miss: Must snorkel.

Pros: Plenty to do and plenty of time to relax; loved CocoCay. The value for the price paid was exceptional.

Cons: Nothing really. The ship could use a renovation but it was clean and comfortable.
