Review summary
Monarch Of The Seas is a nice ship -- and not too big. The food was quite good overall, and the staff excellent. Although we live in the Los Angeles area, we had not been to Catalina Island in decades, and this was a nice way to visit. We usually just drive through San Diego on our way to Mexico, and we were pleasantly surprised on our visit there. So much to do in this area of the city and no need for a car. We walked all over. We drive to Ensenada quite often, and we always love this city. We would have liked one day at sea just to relax, but this is not the cruise for that. You have a full 4-day cruise. Very enjoyable.Ports of call
Pros: The three ports: San Diego, Catalina Island, Ensenada
Cons: Not enough "at sea" time.
