Review summary

We recently sailed on the Monarch of the Seas, this was my first cruise ever, and my wifes second. we were very impressed from the very beginning. The boarding process was remarkably organized and went very quickly. When you step foot on the ship, you are met with welcoming greetings, pleasant extremely professional personal, they made you feel special. Our stateroom exceeded our expectations,it was immaclate. We had all the comforts of home, plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. There was never a time that you couldn't get something to eat. We dined in "Vincents" restaurant every night of our trip, the meals were fabulous, the service was outstanding. I tried some things I had never tried before, I was pleasantly surprised, they were all good. Our other meals were eaten in the Windjammer. The Windjammer is a buffet style restaurant, the choices were endless, the food was good and the employees working there were pleasant and accommodating.Besides eating, there is plenty to do.We worked out the first day in the workout room. The equipment is state of the art. I was very impressed with the many classes that were offered.Outside you could shoot hoops, play ping pong or climb on the rock wall. My wife climbed the rock wall the first day out, she loved it and recommends it to anyone looking for a thrill. The swimming pool was beautiful and there was plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. We also enjoyed the shows and the many night clubs.Boleros is beautifully decorated and a very comfortable fun place to go. I enjoyed just relaxing in the Viking Crown Lounge, I could smoke my cigar, enjoy my drink and get a great view of the pool area down below. The Schooner Bar had some wonderful piano music to listen to.We also enjoy games of chance, Bingo was fun and the casino has every game that you might want to play, we tried them all. We tried some shore excursions, and enjoyed them all.I really liked the snorkling in Catalina. When all is said and done, there was nothing we didn't like about our cruise, we would do it again. The only thing I might change is the amount of time. This cruise went by too fast, I might try a longer cruise next time.

We didn't see much of this port, we went on the off road bicycle adventure. The bike ride was moderately difficult, the winery at the end of the ride was very pleasant and informative.

We didn't see much of the port, but did go on a sea caves kayak. The weather was very foggy when we went out, we didn't get the full view, however we did see a sea lion family. I would recommend this adventure, if the weather is clear.

Catalina Island, California

We visted many of the shops in this port before going on our snorkel tour.We enjoyed the snorkel, the fish were in abundance, some very colorful and diverse marine life was seen.
Don't Miss: The snorkel tour at Lovers Cove.

Pros: I could just relax or get out there, activities geared for many interests.

Cons: The elevators were a little slow at times.
