Review summary

Magical, with the exception of embarkation. Hopefully, RCCL will fix this glitch for future passengers. It created undue stress and anxiety for me and my BFF travel partner, through no fault of my own. Hardly the way to begin a vacay. Once on board, a sigh of relief and a perfect cruise! Using Nancy Starr Nelson, Vacation Specialist at Dream Vacations, was the best decision ever. I can't imagine trying to get through all of the embarkation obstacles without her, she intervened on my behalf and surely deserves a medal for doing so. Without Nancy, I'd be waving goodbye with tears in my eyes, to all of my Friends, as the Mariner of the Seas sailed without me. Seriously, I was *thisclose* to not going. Grateful I did. All glory to Nancy!

Embarkation

I was literally the last passenger on board after being denied boarding for hours on end, with rude authorities who wouldn't even listen to me. I kept getting told that Bermuda would never authorize me to enter, even though I had the confirmation paperwork in my hand! I went through at least 6 or 7 people until my Vacation Specialist Nancy Starr Nelson intervened on my behalfUnfortunately, this was the only glitch. Because I had an ischemic stroke in 2021 within 48 minutes of receiving my first Covid vaccination, my physicians have advised not getting another one or any boosters. The letter my hematologist sent to RCCL for a medical exemption, took weeks to approve. Same with the Bermuda Authorisation. Once those were in hand, embarkation should have been routine fir me, but it was anything but.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Everything was fabulous, presentation, selection and quality of food excellent, my favorite was the Lobster Tail Dinner! Yum!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Doo-Wop show with The Alley Cats was my absolute favorite! Mark, our Cruise Director, has boundless energy and enthusiasm! Would love to have had more dancing venues with 1950's music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our nightly dinner servers as well as the manager, addresses us by name after the first night. They couldn't have been more pleasant, professional and attentive. I've rarely had this level of service in some of the finest restaurants in the U. S. Our cabin steward was delightful, whether bringing us extra towels or creating a cute animal for our room!

Ship tip

Pack light. You don't need as many clothes as you think you do and besides, nobody remembers what you wore anyway, since they're too busy having fun!
