Review summary

If you don’t enjoy this vacation, you’ve got issues and letting little things get in your way. Staff great and while ship is a little older, far from stopping it being a great time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Was so easy. Got there a little bit after my time but no one asked about my assigned time. Was very easy and quick process. Probably 30-40 mins from Avis drop off to on the ship. Had Covid test paperwork that was checked a couple of times and l quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We got the finish package so ate only in the specialty restaurants, apart from breakfast. Japanese was the best with also the best staff although all the staff were great. Breakfast in the main dining room is very nice and the windjammer is easy and quick if that’s your preference.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
All activities were fun and for the most part available when we wanted to use them.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Ice show was fantastic. Don’t miss it. Only did one of the two shows as the first was ok but nothing special. The ice performers are on a different level to the stage performers who look like timing was always a bit off. Enjoyed it all the same. Juggler and comedians were fun too. My daughter loved them all.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
The two age group clubs were combined (4-8 and 9-12 approximately) so a lot of younger kids in with my 10 year old daughter. She went two days for 2hrs each during sea days and had fun each time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Never interfaced with any staff member who wasn’t customer focused and interested in making sure my experience was positive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship showing some age with some warn down elements visible, especially in stateroom bathroom but nothing to detract from it being a great vacation.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Showing its age but more than suitable for two of us. If you overpack and bring lots of cases, especially with more people, you might struggle for space but again, that’s to be expected. Bring stacking cases or bags for space saving while not in use if you can

Ship tip

Bring fewer cases if possible so you can disembark at your own pack. Also, bring bags and cases that reduce in size or stack inside each other as a space saving opportunity while they are not being used as the wardrobe space is limited.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and relatively quick process. There are always going to be some lines getting off a ship with so many people. We went for breakfast first and then finished packing up and disembarked as we were not under any time pressure. Looked like long lines trying to be first off so if you need to get off first, might be a bit more challenging. Looks like a lot of people caught onto the tip of carrying their own luggage off, which can for sure assist getting out of the terminal more quickly and at your own pace.

Glad you enjoyed it. Someone else just posted a review and did not like much of anything on the ship, but that says much more about them than it does the cruise line or the ship.
