Review summary

I've shared with family & friends since I returned home that Royal Caribbean did a very good job regarding Covid protocols with social distancing, everyone over the age of 2 wearing a mask at all times (except when eating and swimming), and not allowing passengers to serve themselves at the buffet. Passenger occupancy was only at 60% capacity which made for a much better experience for dining, going to the theater for shows, etc. I've been on 16 cruises since 1971; this trip reminded me of how cruising used to be before the ships greatly increased occupancy.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We arrived at our 1:30 pm check-in time slot. Received our "Vaccinated" wristband and in a short time we were on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Had breakfast and dinner in the main dining room. Our group of 16 sat at 3 tables for dinner on the deck for vaccinated passengers only. Excellent service from the wait staff who remembered our names and our favorite drinks! On embarking the ship, we ate in the Windjammer. Washed our hands as requested, received a plate & silverware, the staff filled our plates with our choices, and we enjoyed lunch. Much better system than serving ourselves, especially in the era of Covid!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Ice Show was excellent! Also enjoyed the comedian, the "Goddess" music show, and the juggler's performance.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward (I Made) was very attentive. Waiters for our table (558) also very attentive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We could see the staff cleaning frequently, wiping elevator buttons, reminding people to wear masks properly and wash hands. A little difficult to have no more than 4 people on the elevator at the same time, but it was still better than packing in 12 or more passengers!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was fine and kept clean and tidy by our room steward (I Made). My only problem was there were only two outlets by the vanity. I brought my sleep apnea machine and the distilled water and extension cord I requested was in the room. However, I was not about to plug the machine in on my bedside table and leave the orange cord lay on the floor during the night. I realize this is an older ship, but the outlet should be close to the bed.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
First time I've been here since 2018 and the renovations are wonderful. Several people in our group did the zipline, snorkeled in the ocean, and swam in the pool. Unfortunately, a diving excursion for another couple was cancelled.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
I was staying with family nearby so we opted to walk off the ship with our luggage.
