Review summary

Loved Coco Cay! Loved the Room, the ship was overall very clean and a great crew.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We parked at the parking garage right at the terminal, parking was easy and cost $67.00 for the weekend. Since we had a suite this cruise we had priority boarding and went right threw security quickly and was on the ship in less than 10 minutes, It was the easiest embarkation!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
This was my biggest complaint of this cruise, I have come to expect great food from Royal, but was very let down with the main dining rooms food quality on this cruise. It was subpar at best, very bland and several dishes were cold by the time they made it to the table. Café promenade was great for a quick bite, pizza, sandwiches, small desserts, the kids and I enjoyed hitting that from time to time. The windjammer was also great for quick bites, food in the windjammer was honestly better than the main dining room.

Windjammer Café

Food was better in the windjammer then in the main dining room

Great location on the ship. Great food, and great staff!

Café Promenade

5 out of 5

Great spot to catch a fast bit to eat.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship has a great selection of activities with the recent upgrades, We really enjoyed the Skypad and the waterslides!! Our kids had a great time watching the flowrider. Pools where nice, we always bring our swimsuits with us on embarkation day and hit the slides and pools first thing. Laser tag was AMAZING! Highly recommend, the kids loved it, and I Loved it just as much as they did.

Swimming Pools

Loved the pools!

Dunes Mini Golf

5 out of 5

Awesome mini golf with a great view from the front of the ship.

Entertainment

Loved the Schooner Bar piano player he was awesome, The Ice show in Studio B was great as well. Not a bad seat anywhere in Studio B, be sure to get there early to get a seat though. I did miss how on the smaller ships there are usually 2 showings of the main show each night, Marnier only offered 1 main show each night usually after 10. With kiddos its hard for them to stay up that late.

Studio B

Loved the Ice show, also same venue for laser tag. HIGHLY recommend both!

Children's Programs

Our kids where not as impressed with the Adventure Ocean Club on Mariner as they had been on other ships. They said it seemed more like a babysitter this time, on our last couple of cruises they begged to go, but not so much on Mariner.

Adventure Ocean

Kids were not that impressed with Mariners Adventure Ocean Club. Had way more fun on the ships.

Service and Staff

Tao was the suite concierge and he was amazing! Very helpful with info, super nice to chat with. Our room steward as well was great at upkeep of the room and always had a great attitude.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Ship was very clean, I honestly did not see hardly any areas that made me think it was in need of attention. Great overall layout, it was very easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

One of two Ocean View Panoramic Suite's, very roomy with right around 400SF of living space. There is a curtained section with bunk beds which the kids loved having their own private space. The living area includes a double sofa bed, vanity and sitting area. There are one and a half baths with shower. The TV is able to swing around to be viewed from the bed or the living room area. Floor to ceiling wrap around panoramic windows are the biggest reason we chose the room. If you have little ones and don't trust them with a balcony room this is the way to go! AMAZING views, you are right above the bridge so the view I cannot express how amazing it was. It was great having the 1/2 bath as well, multiple people could be getting ready for the day at the same time. I would HIGHLY recommend this room by its self, but also having the suite benefits was a great addition to this amazing room.

Ship tip

Take your swimsuits with you on embarkation and enjoy the pools and waterslides before they get crowded.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Loved Port Canaveral! Was able to watch a rocket launch, loved NASA as well.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did enjoy the pirates museum this trip, But overall we are not big fans of Nassau.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We stayed in a suite this cruise and it was the BEST disembarkation we have ever been a part of. Tao the suite concierge took us right of the ship, right to our luggage and then right to the customs desk, It was the fastest I have ever gotten off a ship.
