What made this quick getaway so enjoyable was the friends that went with us. Always makes for a great cruise when you bring people with you that you enjoy being around. Also, the Mariner was our maiden ship back 11 years ago, so it was a bit nostalgic for us, albeit we didn’t bring children with us this time and the firs cruise was a 7-day cruise to the Mexican riviera. We got to enjoy the ship a lot more on the first cruise but it is still and always will be one of my favs.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
They have done a great job at the Miami port. So quick on the ship, and easy throughout the process. Had a drink in hand befor 1130. On the pool deck!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Buffet was the best of the 16 cruises I have been on. Main dinning room - meh.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Wasn’t on the ship long enough to get into any onboard activities. Played some drunk shuffleboard with some apparently competitive friends and had a blast.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Music was great all throughout. Comedy show was good, headliner was -thumbs down for me.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every worker on this ship deserves a gold star.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
For a recently dry-docked ship, I think they could have done a better job. Carpeting was dirty in the cabin floors, casino layout not the best.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was fine. Comfortable.
Ship tip
Enjoy the buffet, it was the best food of any cruise I’ve taken over the last ten years. Amazing job by that crew.
No excursions, just enjoyed the beaches. stayed at the Sagamore in south beach night before. Watched the sun rise to start my cruise vacation. Perfect.
Took a $4 taxi to paradise island beach and enjoyed the amenities of some of the Atlantis resort beach. Walked through some of the resorts features and some some cool seelife. Rented some chairs got some beers and enjoyed a perfect beach day with some good friends.
