Review summary

Most times it was almost impossible to find a vacant table at the Windjammer buffet,  particularly breakfast time.

We tried lots of different times but anytime between 8am and 10.00 was packed. As it changed to lunch at 11am we sometimes waited till then and made breakfast into a brunch but of course lots of people had the same idea so you again had to be quick/lucky in the table hunt.

Even most evenings meant frustrating treks around looking for a table before you could eat. Sure there were other places to eat but we wanted the buffet and so apparently did everyone else !!!!!!!

Realy spoiled the whole cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Boring sameness and small cold portions in the main dining.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Mediocre and very much aimed at the Chinese cruisers

Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

sailing out of Singapore it is obviously aimed at the Chinese market. For my family that was not a problem, however, the free-for-all in the Windjammer buffet restaurant would spoil anyones holiday. Never again!!!!!!!!

Ports of call

Singapore

5 out of 5

Penang (Pulau Pinang), Malaysia

3 out of 5
nothing at the port but a taxi will take you shopping but not very exciting and certainly not the cheapest in Asia

Langkawi (Pulau Langkawi), Malaysia

3 out of 5
nothing at the port but ok taxis to a few interesting places

Phuket, Thailand

3 out of 5
no port but efficient tendering (15-20mins trip) takes you to ok beach and prom but plenty of taxis to take you to interesting tourist sites and better beaches -lots to do

Typically, if u ask one of the uniformed employees in the Windjammer to get u a table, they will. I've cruised over 20 cruises w/ RCCL and never have I not been able to get a table. Of course if you were trying to seat a lot of people at one table, say 6 or over this could be a bit more daunting. You should have discussed w/ Windjammer staff and they would have rectified. Yes, it can be busy. It can be crowded, but that is the way cruise ship buffets are in the mornings, especially on port days.
