When cruising, my hubs leaves his phone at home for a friend that takes all of his calls. I take my phone only to take pics. You can use any of the wall phones around the ship to contact your stateroom the number is usually you stateroom door number

😱 really loud.Just kidding. Post-it notes or dry erase board works but they're not "real time." Other than that, walkie-talkies but range is limited with all the steel and bulkheads. Good luck and have fun!
