Review summary

Overall, The Mardi Gras is an excellent ship and it’s an awesome experience for both adults and children. It just needs better improvements with the lunch and dinner buffet.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The specialty restaurants were excellent but the food/choices at the buffet for lunch and dinner was extremely underwhelming. If you’re going to have a lunch buffet, then there should be food normally eaten during lunch. It seems like they were serving similar food for lunch and dinner and quite honestly, the taste was not good. The fact that people would rather stand on extremely long lines for Guy’s Burgers and Shaq’s Chicken is a testament to that. They also need better quality hotdogs at the main pool deck.

Ship Quality

It’s a large ship but the way layout was designed made it feel like it wasn’t. I was very impressed by the layout.

This was my first Carnival Cruise and I must say that the disembarkation process was excellent.
