Review summary

i took a 10 year break from carnival after 20 years. They had cut too many corners. This was their last change to impress me back with a newer larger ship. Unfortunately the list of issues exceeded the pros by about 10 fold. I make the best of any vacation or situation, but i wont be back on carnival.

big chicken, blue iguana and guys burgers were the free highlights. hibachi was great (paid) but the main dining room food was sub par. service was great

bolt roller coaster broken most of the time. ropes course wonderful. slides and kids water area seemed very lacking. bingo started at 29$ and 20 people had to split the 1k jackpot.

i expected more decor from carnival. no atrium. no wow factor. dining room felt like a cafeteria. they really bombed with art and decor on this ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

the cabin seemed small for a balcony room. the bathroom was intolerably small. the shower had minimal water pressure. unable to wash product from hair. beds less then twin size. rock hard and caused substantial back injuries in one passenger. had to take advil before bed and after waking up daily to survive the beds.

Ship tip

make the most of it, there's more water pressure in the spa showers and more space

We know how you feel. Try Celebrity! We sailed on the Ascent right after our B2B on MG. It was eye opening and amazing….even their buffet was delicious.
