Review summary

If you get a sailing on the Mardi Gras at a good price, you will be a happy camper. Impressive ship with a lot to offer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We've cruised enough with Carnival to have Platinum status which makes embrarkation SO fast and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was very good. The main dining room was a very enjoyable experience every night. The buffet (Lido Marketplace) got a little monotonous as the week went on so we went to other venues (ChaBang, Pig and Anchor, Guy's Burger Joint) and the food there was great. Our steakhouse experience was excellent!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This is not our favorite part of how Carnival does it on mega ships like the Mardis Gras. Is "overly dramatic" understandable. The show's director obviously coached all singers and dancers to act in an over-the-top way and it got annoying. Just sing a great song with a smile on your face people!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service staff treated us great, though they look somewhat unhappy.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Roomy (especially love having an extended balcony) and always clean and comfortable.

Ship tip

It is difficult to get a good seat for the shows happening on "Center Stage", you must get there very early or you will be in the room, but your best view will be a monitor.
