The Mardi Gras's wonderful ship. We had a wonderful time despite a few bumps in the road the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The entire time that we were out the food on the whole was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and exciting. I will definitely cruise on the Mardi Gras again.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room had the best selection of breakfast/brunch foods i have ever had /tasted on carnival .
The main dinning room dinners were just so-so . Seemed to me they lacked flavor . The Italian restaurant was fabulous and it was free . The Fahrenheit, 555 steakhouse was absolutely amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. They serve the best French onion soup that I've ever tasted. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and relaxing. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and we ended up doing that two nights of the cruise, it was well worth the extra money spent. We also tried the new Chibang restaurant and that for us anyway was not great. It's a mix of Chinese and Mexican food but not a lot of choices for Mexican and the night that we went they had to settings we had the earlier sitting at 5:30 and it was just total chaos. One of my family has a gluten allergy, and they have to pre-order their food to get what they want at dinner in advance which was fine we did that and then the rest of us ordered there at the time of sitting but our food came out a full 20 minutes before the pre-ordered meal and we had to ask for it we didn't get our drinks until we were almost done with our dinner, so we refused them . I feel like maybe it was just an off night, but it was just not an experience that I wanted to repeat. We also tried quite a few of the fast food venues for lunches, snacks round the ship, and everything was excellent.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
My family mostly enjoyed the pool daily bingo and my niece enjoyed the water park .
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved all the live performances, both in the theater and center stage liked how there was more than one thing that we could do in the evenings that was family appropriate .
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the ships staff that I encountered was friendly helpful and seem to really care about getting their job done
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ships layout was very nicely done, took a day or so before we had it down pat, but that's common with all ships. The areas were clean and very well-maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was extremely clean comfortable, and the size was what I expected. The only downfall that we had was that our balcony was right above the smoking deck . Because of the smoking deck we were unable to utilize our balcony due to the smoke the loud noise at night so we learned something since this was the first time we've had a balcony that we must know where the balcony is, and what lies below it. Hopefully when we want a balcony again, I can ask to be sure that I am not above the smoker section.
Ship tip
Try to get the layout and exploring of the ship done on your embark meant day makes the rest of the week easier to plan
Disembarkation experience never seems to get better. It's total chaos with the elevators. The lines are very long and if you carry your luggage off like we did, you have to wait in this long line that wraps completely around the boat on the deck that you're exiting out . I understand why everyone needs to get out in the morning early so that you can turn the boat around for the outgoing cruise that day. However, this is the worst part of the cruise for me with the most stress and that's not always the best way you want to end your spectacular stress-free cruise.
