I still had a great time because the ship is full of activities and shows.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very easy, thanks to Carnival system to embark people at different time frame.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was amazing. The servers were very professional. Especially Darkham in the Chibang Restaurant, Melody in the Lido deck and Maribel in the Palm (at breakfast) made it even more great.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The best thing about Madi Gras is the activities and entertainment, you will never be bored in the boat. The Director of Entertainment (Kyndall Fire) is amazing. She really made the experience out of this world, with the help of her talent team. Shout-out for really talented people: Christian from bingo, Lulu and Vicky from the comedy club,
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All the performers on the ship was amazing but my favorite is always the comedy club. My favorite comedian was Tom Foss.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All waiters are friendly and professional but I did notice that there is so many people that there was times that it took a long time to serve you the meal. There was two occasions that I had to leave before my dessert came (it was taking to long) because I was going to be late for the show. My room steward Ingro did an amazing job in my room.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The boat is so big and their so many people, it was a little overwhelming. There is a lot of elevators but they are very small (maybe 6 people fit in), the boat is 18 floors so going up the stair constantly is out of the question when you are vacation. The bathroom in the room is very small, there is not enough bathroom around the boat for over 6,000 people in the boat. The bathrooms on the ship have these automatic door that does not make it convenient at all. It is a waste of time and in some occasion you think it is locked (2 time people will go in) and other people would walk in leaving you expose. For such a big ship it was pretty clean but once again the bathroom was not that clean. Their is not that many and they are small, I don't think it is possible to maintain it clean without closing them.
Cabin / Stateroom

The size was average and it was very clean. My only complain is how small the bathroom was compare to other ship of Carnival (I have been on 5 ships). The thermal room and gym are very small (for such a big ship). It was always very crowded, I don't think is worth the extra price for this ship. Now with that said their was 2 worker that made it very special. Paul in the gym and Veronica in the salon did an amazing job on my hair.
Ship tip
Remember to have extra money for the sail card because not all the gratuities are included. I had to pay for gratuities for a lot of things on the boat that I had to pay on others.
I did not like the long walk out of the port. It was early in the morning and it was long, dark and gloomy. I did not do an excursion. I walked SJ and it was a great experience.
This port was a long walk to the port but the difference is that it is open, made it more fun. I did the waterfall and Monkeyland excursion. This was the best excursion I did. I recommended it, if you can do an up hill (45 minutes) hike.
This is a very nice port but this island is not one of my favorite. I did the sightseen/taste of Turk. The excursion was good but my favorite is the one that I did in DP.
The disembarkation from the ship was smooth but at the port was not good at all. I had a passport so it was easy for me but for people that did not have one was awful. I felt sorry for the long line for the people that had a birth certificate or driven license. As I was passing all the people, I kept thinking that they need to find a better way to process these people.
Appreciate your very detailed and informative review. I’ve heard the problem with small elevators and bathrooms from others. Something to keep in mind when booking. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
