We will try a different cruise line next time. We had a wonderful time with our 13 person family group. People had told us before that Carnival is a "Party Ship" and we had always responded that we had not noticed that and were not bothered by that. This time we did notice it and noted that the sound levels were always terribly loud. The other thing we noticed was the extra costs for everything.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Not as good food as past cruises we have taken. Most of it was pretty unremarkable and not as many choices
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Our grandchildren and kids loved the slides. The pools were very small and always too full so we couldn't enjoy them very much. It would be nice to have a lap pool.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The shows were too much light and not much substance. There was so much innuendo and "in your face" sexuality.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Our son and daughter-in-law thought it was pretty much just chaos when they dropped off their children.
Service and Staff

Our room steward did a good job, but nothing that stood out as exceptional. We never got the daily notices we have gotten on other cruises and noticed other people had received. All the ship personnel were very friendly and helpful. They were there instantly if I dropped food, etc. They always said "no problem" and "don't worry about it."
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean and well maintained. We prefer a smaller ship thought. It was too much walking to get where we wanted to be.
Cabin / Stateroom

We kept bumping our knees on the corner of the bed. The steward always would put the wastebasket in that corner instead of where we would move it to each time which was out of the way and under the dressing counter.
We enjoyed our tour of Old Town - a separate tour guide from the ship tours and cheaper. We learned some historical information and enjoyed it very much.
Again, we had to pay just to use beach chairs. And we had to listen to the local "chair rental people" arguing about who had the right to rent the chairs out. Some authorities argued with him for at least 20 minutes!
all cruise lines charge extra for certain things... even some dining venues. carnival actually has the most free dining options than any other line. also, you may have felt the more "party" vibe this time since you cruised during spring break. my friend just sailed rcl that I thought wasn't s much of a party atmosphere as Carnival (I've only sailed rcl once... never again) but I saw his videos.... was I wrong... fights and drunks... that's spring break for ya
