Review summary

This is the last time I will travel on the Mardi Gras. Rather do some of the other ships I have traveled in the past. More fun, better energy, better experience. The staff on the Mardi Gras can be described as either a salesperson, disgruntled employee, hostile, and there are only a few that appear to love the job and even if they don't, they are good at acting like they want you to enjoy the experience.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation process was great-we carried our luggage. Lines moved swiftly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Unlimited is limited for drinks and soda Food has no seasoning Staff penny pinch servings at buffet as if they are saving it for themselves The even have a guy walking around attempting to restrict accessibility to food at the buffet, but I believe this is more him than the ship policy.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Trash - everything

Entertainment

5 out of 5
THe acrobat show was amazing

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Danilo - made the evening dining great Leila - was very courteous, professional and accomdating Mona Lisa - kept our room in top shape at all time Leo&Melvin - awful - made breakfast a terrible experience. Only saw them once the entire meal. Had to solicit others to assist us. Called on them several times and they simply did not respond with service. Alan and Jitz - worked with Danilo and were just as awesone. Wish could have them on every trip! Abraham in guest services resolved the issues cause by Pedro rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, condescending and most of all incompetency within minutes of asking for his help. Pedro is not built for customer service and obviously a person with no people skills whatsoever.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
rooms are the smaller than the rooms on smaller ships. Mardi Gras is designed for maximum profit and not customer experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
smaller than any other although is a larger vessel

Ship tip

Be persistant in getting the service they are to be committed toward. Don't take no for an answer. Voice your unhappiness and dissatisfaction.

My mother always said you will get out what you put in, every cruise is different. None are perfect, be calm , be patient And try not annoy the people around you

Thanks for your review. We will be on the Mardi gras for the 3rd time in November and each time has been a different experience. I agree that the cabins on the Mardi gras are smaller and we just get a balcony to be more comfortable. Unfortunately, covid has lasting effects that continue to wreck havoc. I plan on going into my vacation with an open mind and pack my patience, grace, and mercy with me 😊

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

Thanks for the review. I’ve seen many complaints about Mardi Gras feeling overcrowded and public venues and cabins being too small. Luckily Carnival has multiple other ships for you to choose from. Amber Cove has many good options both inside and outside the port. If you just want to relax by the pool for no charge, it is great.

We live in a world that is simply understaffed right now. Those who are working are working extremely hard to keep up. As someone who works in the hospitality industry I can tell you that I have seen some people ruin what could be a good time by complaining to me as management. If they would have had just a little more patience instead of taking it to the manager to complain and be pushy about their expectations, they could have had a much better experience. I'm sorry your cruise wasn't what you hoped for.
