Embarkation

Fast and efficient, however there wasn’t a line for Platinum guests which I thought was odd as that is one of our perks.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were pleased with the food options. Plenty of choices. We only had dinner in the main dining room twice which was good but we chose to try the other specialty restaurants. Guys burgers are good and worth the wait (line moves pretty fast) the chicken everyone raves about… well it was good but in my opinion fried chicken is fried chicken. The panini’s were delicious and many choices. Smokehouse barbecue was also delicious and a fun area to hang out and watch football.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

5 out of 5

The steakhouse is always a must for us. Great meal.

Cucina del Capitano

5 out of 5

Another favorite for us, great Italian food and great service! We ate here 2 times and there’s no additional charge.

Rudi's Seagrill

5 out of 5

We really liked Rudi’s, everyone in our group enjoyed this restaurant, everything was delicious! The servers were excellent and a pretty atmosphere as well.

Onboard Activities

Tides Pool and whirlpool

5 out of 5

Tides pool was really nice with the infinity pool. Again very crowded though.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw several great musicians, Victor James was excellent, Keith in the piano bar was great fun and entertaining! Saw a few comedians which were all pretty good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I just really appreciate the hard work of the staff. It does seem like they are a bit understaffed. I mostly noticed this with tables not getting cleaned up too quickly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We’ve been on many Carnival ships and was immediately impressed with the Mardi Gras. The center stage is awesome. I loved the design of the lido deck eating area. This is a larger ship but we figured it out pretty quickly.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin, it was just very small from what we’re used to. Storage was fine, bed was comfortable.

Ship tip

Bring your patience with you, you will be traveling with a few thousand people!
