Review summary

Ship was beautiful and we loved the many options for eating, especially the speciality quick serves like Guy's Burgers and Shaq's Big Chicken. That made it easy to know what we'd eat for lunch. Sit down dining was overall a disappointment. Main dining room, gave more of a cafeteria eating feel and service was way below par. A highlight of our dining was the Italian restaurant, loved it so much we ate there twice. Shows were a bit disappointing. While there were several and sometimes multiple to choose from, the production was lacking in most of them. Best bar on ship was Fortune Teller. Craft cocktail with an entertaining twist.

Embarkation

Embarkation was fantastic. Extremely organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main Dining Room was awful! Food nothing special, service terrible - although I do believe it was because of lack of staff in dining room and kitchen. Dinner service took so long, we missed two shows! We decided not to return to the main dining room after the second evening. The Specialty Dining Restaurants were much better. TOP of my list was Cucina il Capitano, fantastic!! We ate there twice. Food was top notch service was great. We also ate at Bonsai Teppanyake which was a favorite of our party. Great display of entertaining cooking and taste was fabulous. Portions were huge! A huge disappointment was Rudi's. Service was absolutely terrible and the quality level was way below the bar that was set.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools were often over crowded - only actually got in the pool once. Water slides were fun! The walking/running track was nice but it was a main thoroughfare for passengers so if you wanted to concentrate on walking/running it was difficult.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Our party was 50/50 on the shows. Some were fantastic, other just dull. I do believe the best shows were Enchantment and the Broadway Beats.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
While had several very good staff members take care of us, the amount of bad service were received knocked my rating down to only good. We had a wonderful cabin steward and pool bar waiter who provided a lot personal attention throughout the week.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very impressed by the ship's design and layout. With a ship of 6000 passengers, I never really felt over crowded (except in the pool). I loved the many different locations to relax and get a drink, listen to music. However, I am forced to only rate this as Good because the cleanliness of some of the public areas of the ship were lacking, especially the public restrooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything about our Cabin was excellent! Plenty of room, plenty of storage and a lovely balcony.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Only arrived in Port Canaveral to depart. Parking at lot was a breeze.

Nassau, Bahamas

Long walk from the ship to shopping area. Shopping was OK, was hoping for a near by open market.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

There is a large pool and sunbathing area in this port however it was over crowded. We ended up going back to the ship and enjoying the lower crowd onboard.

Grand Turk Island

We planned our own excursion with Exclusive Escapes. Boat ride and snorkeling. Fantastic!!!

Disembarkation

One word... awful! crowd ands chaos everywhere. We were corralled and forced to stay on three decks and wait, wait, wait. Finally when on line to get off ship, the horrible aroma of paint fumes surrounded us for at least 20 minutes.
