I believe Carnival needs to quit thinking about $$
Embarkation

We had Priority status and was made to wait in line like everyone else. Priority didn’t mean a thing.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Food quality is definitely on the decline
Onboard Activities

Definitely miss the Vegas style quality. The venues on the MG definitely lacked vision in the designing of this ship.
With the passenger capacity of this size vessel , more thought should have been given to the seating capacity at such events.
Entertainment

This was a 7 day cruise and they had 3 shows. Not only a lack of production shows but we felt the quality just wasn’t there.

Ship Quality

They have made things smaller to add more. This , in our opinion, was a step in the wrong direction
Cabin / Stateroom

Overall , nice suite. A little set back by the lack of room.
Ship tip
If you’re going to any shows or comedy , get there early , as the venues are small.
The most horrible disembarkation we have experienced.
The ship was late getting cleared by customs , so people were anxious to get off.
Having priority status we should have been among the first to get off the ship. Instead we were stuck in the corridors for over a hour , because half the ship was trying to disembark at the same time.
Absolutely no direction from Carnival. They should have been more prepared, more assertive, especially knowing that the ship was over 45 minutes behind schedule due to customs.
I think the wording the OP used regarding “all about the money” was poorly worded. In my review I had mentioned that they built a ship to accommodate over 6k guests but they made certain areas that couldn’t accommodate 150 people such as the Punchliner which is very popular on Carnival. I was on this sailing and first sea day there was no CD (Covid)who is usually the one that makes the announcements during debarkation which resulted in no directions which lead to physical fights with folks pushing and shoving trying to get off the ship. The gangway was shutdown and people were still waiting to get off at 11:30am. One of the members of the Fun Squad who attempted to fill in the Chris was definitely overwhelmed and did not make any announcements during the debarkation process. It was a mess.
So you think a business shouldn’t make money. This tells me a lot about you. I guess when the industry goes under for no profit, the government can take over cruises and we can all go for free?!?!?! Come on now, be serious.
With all 3 major cruise companies having huge debt to income (not profit) ratios, it would not be too hard to believe 1 or more could go under. What do you think the prices would be with less competition? Also, have you seen prices on the economy lately. Cruises still offer a competitive priced vacation.
The cruise lines have incurred huge debt thru the pandemic. There only survival option is to make as much profit as possible. Did you not realize this going in?? Maybe you should reconsider your vacation choices.
