Tried this place 3 times during my 7 night cruise (embarkation day, mid week, last sea day); and you’re probably thinking 3 times but 2 stars and here’s why. Crazy line on embarkation day and when it was my turn to order it was the last piece in the pan. Found it over cooked and dry but gave it another shot a few days later. That time I ordered the Uncle Jerome; wasn’t a fan. Tried the MDE on the final sea day and it was dry.

Just okay; had the chicken parmigiana and it was good. The sides were not the greatest.

I’ve read reviews on other cruise sites and the rating for this particular ship was always low. I sampled every meat and it was just okay. Preferred it on Breeze.

Service and Staff

I always prepay my gratuities and tip cash on top of that for my favorite bartenders, wait staff, and room steward. Well the room steward did not get cash this trip. He did his job towels, making the beds and such but he was not personable at all. Didn’t great when spoken to maybe he’s homesick or going through something but Trevor was not it.

Ship Quality

Some venues are small for the events they hold in them. I did like the fact the last day they held the comedy shows in the Mardi Gras Theatre opposed to the punchliner.

Cabin / Stateroom

Small compared to Dream Class and Conquest Class ships. The bathroom was much smaller as well. We made it work.

Ship tip

Be prepared for full capacity sailings and not enough staff to handle the capacity.

We self debarked and thank goodness since they shut down the gangway due to people pushing and fights breaking out once we were off. It was a bit unorganized though. Some people were tweeting they were still onboard at 11:45.

I’ll be curious to see your review and comparison with Oasis of the Seas. It was a little large for our taste and we found we prefer the food and service on Carnival. We are finding we just love cruising to cruise and prefer the ease of smaller more basic ships, or the Havana area like we had on Panorama.

Sorry your cruise wasn’t the greatest. Agree about debarkation day. We will NOT be self assisting off the ship for a while. People are so desperate to be first off of the ship, they are willing to act aggressive, self entitled, and rude. Hopefully someone at Carnie HQ is tasked with coming up with a better process.

Thanks for the review. I’ve seen several comments about venues being too small in the ship feeling overcrowded. Hopefully they will make changes in the future design of sister ships.
