Embarkation was awful as mentioned above. The port is in Florida and plans should be made in the case of a tropical storm rolls through. The cruise itself was awesome. The travel day home was awful, and we got no help from American Airlines or Carnival (we booked our airfare through them). Neither would assist us in trying to get home earlier since we got off the ship so early. American Airlines said Carnival had to request the change, and Carnival said that American Airlines had to make the change. Neither cared about the customer.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
A tropical storm was rolling through Port Canaveral while we were in line (outside) to board the ship. We got soaked and to make matters worse my wife's luggage didn't show up until late that night because the baggage handlers somehow caused the luggage tag with our room number to fall off of her luggage.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food and drink was top notch. We were very happy with the vast array of choices of places to eat. We didn't eat in the MDR one time.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We used pools, fitness center, lounges, bars, center stage
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We are used to the old way that the Carnival shows would go (multiple wardrobe changes and set changes), and were slightly let down when we got 1 set for complete shows. Also didn't like that nobody brings drinks to people in the Mardi Gras Theater.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Some staff was awesome, others not so much. Our cabin steward even skipped our room one day and we had to call to get some clean towels. The wait staff in most of the restaurants was great.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Loved the design of the ship. Layout was simple to follow as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We liked the new shower design with a door. Everything else was kind of what we expected.
Ship tip
Get very familiar with decks 6,7,8, 16 and 17. Most everything is on one of these levels.
Always advised to have an extra outfit in your "carry-on" it's a gamble flying, that's why we drive the 11+ hours. My sister and brother in law flew and we drove from Virginia. We got back home at the same time pretty much because their flight was so late. Agree with the drinks in the theater had to get there about 20 minutes early to get seats by the time the show starts your drink is empty. Should atleast be a bar inside
