The Carnival Money Grab ( Mardi Gras ) is the newest and biggest ship in carnivals fleet and YET they have managed to turn it into a 3 day small in feel party boat run by obnoxious loud drunk passengers.
Now if you want to pay even more then you can separate yourself from all the nonsense and actually find a bit more calm and quiet and Refinement. And this ship makes that abundantly clear.
Hence the Carnival Money Grab.
Thing is as mentioned this ship is awful.
The serenity area is slowing people to overrun it with loud thumping music. Loud drunk obnoxious people. Personal boom boxes Kids running through. You name it. It’s a joke for the most part
There’s is many other awful things about this ship. Safety to customer service that it’s not worth sailing on board unless you like “ awful “. Big can be better but not in this ship.
Not if you are looking to fine some quiet some refinement some form of space and freedoms you find on other ships.
Embarkation

Crowded. Slow. Unspecial
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Awful. Anything “ free “ was fried or breaded with hardly any healthy options and the lido buffet was the worst we have ever seen. Not to mention the hours of operation for THIER food services.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
If yo I don’t mind paying for the roller coaster. If yo I don’t mind paying for the cooking kitchen classes. If you I don’t mind paying for bingo. If you don’t mind paying for “ deal or no deal “ if you don’t mind paying for spa treatments. If you don’t mind paying for the casino play. If you don’t mind paying for dinners. If you don’t mind paying for better lounge and pool areas. If you don’t mind paying for … you pretty much get the idea. The carnival Money Grab offers free. But it’s the lamest ship ever.
Entertainment

The center stage performers. Excellent. The playlist performers. Some had talent. But the shows themselves are awful. From concept to choreography. Tired and boring. And weird. The magician M Theory show was insulting to one’s intelligence overall. Bad magic meets a Scottish accent so thick you can barely understand him at times. And truly some of his “ schtick “ was so bad that every other time he showed up onstage in another show you could hear the audience groan. Feel it. So he and others had to resort to begging for applause.
The show schedules were so awfully set you couldn’t see everything on your own time you are forced to have to feel rushed to see things. It’s strange how shows are scheduled in this lame ship.
Children's Programs
No children. Sooooooo
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
From rude cabin stewards to unsmiling crew members who simply didn’t care to clumsy waiters a non existent cruise director only appearing on stage above you or as a constant voice selling something in loud speaker. He was like a mirage who liked to teach people how to wave THIER hands and that is somehow supposed to be fun and cool.
Guest services is overwhelmed on this ship. And most are cold and “ whatever “ feel to them.
Ship Quality

Awful layout. Very strange ship. Carnival is not ready for such a large ship fleet.
Cabin / Stateroom

Smaller ish then cabins on other ships. Clean enough but it would have been nice to have had the room made up at some point in day.
Ship tip
Don’t Sail in this ship. It caters to the loud. The drunk. The obnoxious and the “ let’s party and be cool for 7 days by drinking to much. Everywhere. Also there is no “ serenity “ onboard this ship. It’s 90 percent a party area as well. Lastly the ship is dangerous. Broken glass pains broken stairwell railings that come apart. People who throw things from the top decks down on you. ( I was hit in the head by an apple 9-10 decks up while laying in a lounge )
Overcrowded near the ships. Loud. Obnoxious atmosphere. And the one excursion we took with carnival kept us waiting 35 minutes late standing around. Lame.
I'm pretty sure bingo and casino gambling has always cost to play. That's the first I've ever read someone complaining those costs money. There are positives and negatives on ever cruise. You decide what you want to focus on. The other guests have the same experience but managed to enjoy it.
I certainly agree that the hours of operation of "American" cruise ships are ridiculous. Can't have breakfast at 10am, can't have lunch after 2pm, can't go to dinner after 8:30 or 9pm. If you sleep in, you have to live on burgers and pizza.
Thanks for the review. I’ve seen several reports of the ship venues feeling small and overcrowded. People either seem to love or hate the Mardi Gras design.
Wow of all the reviews that I read on Mardi Gras this is a 1st of this bad review. Sorry you didn't like anything maybe cruising is not for. And all inclusive resort might be better for you!! Thankx for your review!
