Review summary

Mardi Gras is my favorite ship in the Carnival Ship. This was our first time and we loved it. The amount of places to eat and drinks are amazing. It might not be for everyone but we enjoyed it very much. Is beautiful and has something for everyone. Make sure to plan you meals to eat in all the different places and beware that you will walk a lot during your vacation.

Embarkation

A bit slower than expected. But it went smoothly regardless. Make sure to use Verifly it was faster and the employees were happy we did.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There are soo many options in this ship that are included that we didn't need to spend a dime in additional per pay restaurants.

Flamingo Restaurant

We dined at the MDR 4 times. The menu was good and the meals were pretty good. Service was pretty speedy. I think the assigned dining helps to dine faster.

Chibang!

The lunch menu is great, especially the churro for desert.

Pizzeria del Capitano

5 out of 5

Long lines during times where everything else is closed, but they are very tasty.

Cucina del Capitano

Get the Chicken Parmigiana with a side of spaghetti carbonara for a delicious and filling meal

Lido Marketplace

3 out of 5

With so many options the buffet is a bit lackluster. Very simple and poor selections

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Always delicious and tasty

Onboard Activities

The Deck Parties were awesome. The pools are beautiful and there are several in different decks. Bolt was the highlight, such an adrenaline rush. The live music was great too! So much to do in this big ship

Entertainment

5 out of 5
With playlist productions, several comedy shows, live music everywhere. There is always something to do. My favorite show was the Family Feud Game, so much fun. The Broadway Beats was fun too.

Mardi Gras Theater

4 out of 5

Love the new seating design. But is a bit small for the capacity of the ship

BOLT Ultimate Sea Coaster

5 out of 5

Nothing like it. Super fun and the views are awesome. A must do at least once

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They are short staffed but everyone was friendly and super helpful

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Is a new design and size for Carnival. We enjoyed the layout and the many themed zones. Beautiful ship overall

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Super updated. Loved the multiple USB in the cabin. The tv is big and very functional. Bathroom is tiny but the shower is great. Overall a great balcony room.

Ship tip

It is a big ship. If you are on a full sailing prepare to wait for the elevator a bit longer than usual and get early for shows. Also, try all the dining options you will not regret it.

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Beautiful Port. It has a free pool and lots of shops. I recommend doing the Chaccoben Mayan Ruins Excursion. It was very entertaining and super impressive to see the pyramids in person.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
