Review summary

Overall cruise was excellent/fun. Staff on point; however, it seems guests and “nickeled and dimed” more than ever. Things that used to be inclusive is not. -Improve the internet/wifi PLEASE! The cost is RIDICULOUS to purchase for such POOR service/speed. Forget streaming a movie or sporting event. It takes FOREVER for it to load and buffers too much. I would love a refund. Carnival really should be ashamed of themselves for charging for such POOR service. It simply SUCKS! I’m referring to their “Premium” service too. -TV, Movie selection and sporting channels very limited and not the best. There are times when you want to sit in your stateroom, relax, watch a good movie and order room service. Unfortunately, the channels were NOT the best. There were about 8 channels—TCM, HGTV, Discovery, CBS News, and a couple others. The On Demand movie selection was AWFUL and for kids. With the poor internet/WiFi service, you couldn’t stream a movie without it buffering 99 times and taking too long to load. -Sports channels throughout the ship were NOT the best. The NBA playoffs were NOT AN OPTION because Carnival did not have the channel. So, my husband of 37 yrs who is a HUGE, NBA fan damn near lost his mind because he couldn’t watch the games for 7-days and could not get the updates because of the poor internet/WiFi. So, instead he played Candy Crush to calm his nerves!😂. We are still laughing about that. Overall, the cruise was great with the exceptions of the above. We loved it so that we completely forgot to review and purchase our photos (and we took some nice ones this time……my husband actually smiled). Hopefully, they are still available to purchase. Carnival is still our first choice for FUN cruises.

Dining and buffets were pretty good! Service was fast, fun and professional. Staff were on point. We only dined in the main dining and the marketplace (buffet) only.

Onboard Activities

Unfortunately, the Fitness center was the only activity we were interested in. Although the pools were nice but with COVID still in full effect even though we had to test 48 hrs hrs prior to sailing, there were too many people in and around them. The fitness center has staff constantly cleaning equipment plus they have disinfectant wipes throughout where you can wipe the equipment.

Entertainment

I think they could do better with the welcome aboard show/entertainment (we left). Other than that, they music and DJ was good. Marcus Anthony, Happy Cole and I can’t think of the other comedian from Haiti were very good and very entertaining.

Service and Staff

Staff was excellent! My stateroom steward, Juliet was excellent and very hospitable as well as all the staff onboard were. Suchi, Fernando, Gilbert and I in the dining room were excellent!!! They worked very hard to ensure our time onboard was fun, clean and pleasurable.

Cabin / Stateroom

Juliet made sure our cabin was clean and comfortable and it was. I gave a three star rating because this was the worst thing about the cruise………a HORRIBLE, funky, sewer smell reaped our cabin bathroom. I think it was coming from the drains because the odor would get worse when you shower, run water in the sink and flush the toilet. Carnival really should look into this ASAP! Luckily, I’m one that packs Lysol, disinfectant wipes and air fresheners. So we kept an air freshener in the bathroom which helped a little. You can bet the bathroom door stayed closed at all times.
