Our cruise was a long time coming and turned out to be one of the best ones so far. The Mardi Gras is a great ship! I know we had over 5,000 people on board yet it didn’t feel crowded at all. Obviously, in some areas it was like when they did deck parties, etc, but we could always find quiet places on the ship. You can’t go wrong with this ship.
Embarkation

First time cruising out of Port Canaveral and it was top notch! Very smooth process (even with the health protocols) and the employees were friendly.

Food and Dining

I’ve always said Carnival’s food is just ok and it was the same on the Mardi Gras - not bad, but not great and some things were better than others. We were surprised that Guy’s Pig and Anchor was so good. We loved the brisket and that’s saying a lot because we are Texans. We ate at most places except Rudi’s and Emeril’s. We definitely didn’t go hungry!
Onboard Activities

So much fun! We loved Family Feud and the crew members did such a good job!
Entertainment

Most shows were excellent (except we didn’t care for the Woodstock show. We thought it was kind of weird.) Everything else was great! Very talented performers!
Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

We had the smallest suite (ocean suite?) It was great, we slept really well, and from what I heard from the rest of our group, who all had balcony rooms, our shower was big. No complaints.
Very pretty. We walked to the fort and got some beautiful photos. Other than that, there wasn’t too much to do. I was not interested in any of the excursions.
This was our favorite stop. Very nice port! Beach, pool, Margaritaville, and lots of activities going on. Very annoying DJ at the pool though. Talked non stop and didn’t let one song play to the end. Just had to tune her out lol.
