Review summary

About the only thing I wish would be different during these Covid times, is that Carnival would strictly enforce the mask rules. They announce to "sip and cover" during every show, but did not enforce masks at all. I think our rate of Covid on this trip could have been greatly reduced had more people been made to wear masks. If they don't want to comply, they don't need to sail. The cruise industry has suffered enough, and if people don't try to stay healthy, the cruise industry will shut down again. Enforce the mask policy! As the week went on, less and less people were wearing masks.

Embarkation

The ship wasn't ready for passengers, so thousands of us stood packed into the building, waiting to get on.

Entertainment

We loved the comedy shows, however we miss the good old Broadway type shows like Grease, etc. The Marriage show and Deal or no Deal were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always excellent

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout and design were fine. Easy to navigate. Most areas were clean. I think if trash cans and places to put cups were put on the ships, especially on pool deck areas, more people would help to keep things clean. The employees always do an exceptional job at keeping drink cups picked up, but I personally feel guilty about leaving plates and cups behind for someone else to clean up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the glass shower door, rather than a curtain like other ships. Bathroom could have been a bit bigger, but it worked.

I too felt guilty leaving my trash on tables for the hardworking crew to have to clean up: During a Q&A on the Mardi Gras, not having trash cans was discussed. The CD said that it’s because the crew has to separate every piece of trash to put in the appropriate places so it was easier to not have trash cans and the crew could separate as they cleaned up. I still felt guilty though.

Hate to hear that about not enforcing masks, was just on elation and loved that masks were everywhere. If someone didn’t a crew member promptly gave one. I don’t like wearing them but would hate to bring Covid back as a souvenir.

Thanks for sharing your review, I agree they should enforce the mask policy, cruised in December and noticed the same thing.

I think the mask issue is related to the general age of cruisers on the carnival lines versus princess since I've cruised on both the older crowd maybe more health-conscious due to covid issues. Thanks for sharing your cruise. Not discounting employee cruiser relationships
