Meh-est cruise that ever meh-ed. I ate, I drank (a LOT), and the only redeeming factor about the cruise was Claudia in the Havana Bar.
Embarkation

not great, not horrible.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Dining room was "meh" - it was food, but nothing that made me say "OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HAVE THIS AGAIN!!!" Since so many people on board had a lot of on board credit, I couldn't get into any of the paid venues.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Lots of trivia, but the "deck parties" .... meh - the Lido deck isn't big enough to have a deck party on!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The ones I could get into were good, but the venues were so small that I couldn't see 75% of them.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Claudia from the Havana Bar was the one redeeming factor of the ship! Couldn't find a bar waiter to save my life except for ONE night when we were watching the dive in movie in the rain.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Design and layout, HORRIBLE - the shops are spread all over, so you can't find what you're looking for (and the perfume store is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE, which caused a couple migraines because people spray WAY too much perfume!).... common areas were very clean, there was ALWAYS someone cleaning something.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was clean, but TINY!!! I mean, I have sailed on 14 cruises on Carnival now, and I thought I'd been in some tiny rooms, but DOGGONE, this room was TINY - literally a foot between the wall and the foot of the bed. Tip - if you're in this cabin and you have to go #2, go across the hall to the public restroom, where there's room to wipe your hiney.
Ship tip
Book excursions and paid dining venues before you get on - I couldn't get an excursion or into paid dining at all.
I was in group 3, however, my luggage was put in group 30, so I had to go through all the rows of luggage to find mine. They didn't tell folks in scooters that they should go to a specific spot, so they all went to the theater, which wasn't really scooter-friendly, and clogged the halls.
Thanks. It’s obvious Mardi Gras isn’t for everyone. Others on the same sailing loved the ship, food, entertainment, layout, etc. Luckily there are multiple ships and cruise lines, so most can find one they like.
