Definitely a really great Cruise and the newest cruise ship we've been on. Too many things to do on this cruise though, we're going to have to rebook to get to the things we missed. It's great to be back cruising ❤️🛳️
Embarkation

Embarkation was awesome thanks to the upgrade fairy we got to hang out with the suite people in the brand new terminal 3 and were some of the first ones on the ship! ❤️
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Definitely can't knock this place for the food choices. First off the cheers package was included in our cruise so that was awesome. We definitely drink more coffee than alcohol but it was well worth it. I don't want to speak for my wife but I'm sure she'll agree Bar Della Rosa was our favorite. The drinks at the Fortune Teller were definitely memorable especially the crystal ball. Of all the offerings I think we enjoyed the shrimp and grits at Emeril's bistro for breakfast above everything and for lunch the salads at the Serenity were the best. No way on a single cruise you could eat at all the restaurants without having 2 dinners every night. Chi-bang was awesome and Cucina del Capitano was great with really energetic and outgoing staff in both places. I could have eaten at the MDR every night but there was too many choices. The one night we did go to the MDR I had my favorite on most any Carnival ship the Indian Vegetarian Selection. Always flavorful with numerous spices and hot enough to let you know it's there! ❤️ We enjoyed the Fahrenheit 555 and Rudi's Sea grill which was our favorite. Ordering the steamy lobster bisque definitely sets the tone for the rest of the meal whatever you order there.
Onboard Activities

Again way too many things to do on the ship to enjoy all of them and one Cruise. As with all things you definitely have to try the Bolt at least once if you're a bit timid on these things don't worry just don't hit the boost button. 😱 The water park and the slides were awesome. Lots of pools and Hot tubs everywhere so if one is full there are plenty more. The only disappointment for us was the cloud 9 spa. For some reason it is smaller and they put it deep in the bowels of the ship rather than up on top with lots of windows like other Carnival ships, hey but at least it's a new ship and everything was working so that's a plus! Other than that it was all awesome 👍👍
Entertainment

Games, shows and entertainment all day and night in the shows at the theater were top notch. I think we hit Grand Central every night and we're never disappointed but you got to hit up the Backyard band when they play the Pig and Anchor especially.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Through the years the ships, itineraries, excursions and everything else has changed but the only thing that hasn't changed is the commitment that the staff give to make a comfortable and awesome cruising experience for us. Huge kudos to the crew that not only work hard to make your vacation successful but support their families as well. Especially tough during these days.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and spotless as you might expect on a brand new cruise ship thanks to the crew that keep it that way. The ship design is awesome you can see the outside from just about everywhere. Lots of attention was given to upgrade the experience on this ship. We did notice that they did narrow up the rooms a little bit and cherry on top and several other venues were much smaller than on other Carnival ships. On the upside lots of seating and space in the public and main areas on the ship especially Grand Central which is awesome.
Cabin / Stateroom

The upgrade fairy was good to us this time getting us an ocean Suite! Larger bathroom, huge shower, 2 70" TVs. One in front of the couch to the other in front of the bed. Larger balcony that you could actually lay out on. Again it was awesome!
Ship tip
Use that hub app to book your free dining in the evening early, you can even book a few minutes before they open! Lots of people on the ship and it's awesome to be able to walk through the lines and be seated first!
We always love to just walk through this Old Town. It's been through a lot recently and it shows since the last time we were there in 2015 but you can see it's on the mend. We just walked up to the Barachina restaurant and had a couple of the pina coladas which are the first and best in the world (no kidding) and walked the Paseo del Morro around the fort then went to the local grocery store and picked up souvenirs for much cheaper than around the port. ❤️🇵🇷
There is so much to do right after you get off the boat so a lot of folks don't venture out. The last time we were here we did the 27 waterfalls so this time we decided to do an the inclusive beach day. They fed us really well and we drank more than we needed to as they gave us shots of Mamajuana (a rum blended with local herbs and spices and an alleged aphrodisiac LOL) so I bought a bottle. ❤️🇩🇴
@nmb926 no, we just walked up the hill to get there. It's only about half a mile, plus it gets busy there and by foot you get there before everybody else. They used to have flamenco dancers but have dropped them since the covid. Hopefully that will resume soon.
