First and last time on the Mardi Gras. As beautiful as this ship is, I did not like the layout. It felt very crowded even at 75% capacity.
Embarkation

I had rented a scooter and it was an easy pickup and quick entry onto the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The staff was great but this was the most bland food we have ever had in the MDR. Big Chicken and Guys Burgers were great. We did not do any specialty restaurants.
Onboard Activities

Serenity area was beautiful! This was my favorite place on the ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Rock Revolution was the Best stage show I have ever seen on a Carnival ship.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Most of the staff was some of the best I have seen. Our cabin steward was Salmon and he was the worst we have ever had on any cruise line! I shed for an ice bucket for our wine and he told me to go to a bar and get it myself. Never enough towels or room service breakfast forms to fill out.
Ship Quality

Ship layout felt very cut up and crowded even at 75% capacity. Cabins are way smaller than normal. I did not like having to walk sideways around my bed to get to the rest of the room and my balcony. The decor on this ship is beautiful. No more Dick Tracy type wall decor in the hallways, thank heavens.
Cabin / Stateroom

Way too hard to move around. Never again getting a forward facing cabin because I cannot sit and see the water with a solid steel wall.
Ship tip
Do not get a forward facing balcony if you enjoy sitting on a chair to watch the waves and read a book. Can't be done.
Appreciate your detailed review. Sorry your room steward didn’t meet your (or my for that matter) expectations. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of the hiccups.
We had very good food (for Carnival) on our trip. Reserving one elevator per bank for chairs is a waste considering the tiny percentage of use it would get, most folks are helpful when it comes to helping get the chairs on and off, at least on our trip. Agree with room size, smaller than the older ships, but comfortable if you do not make a mistake and pick the wrong one. Looking forward to boarding again in March.
