Review summary

It should be an embarrassment to your company that you docked at that port in Havana. The dock area was disgusting, garbage everywhere to be seen in the harbor. The surrounding buildings were abandoned and unsightly. The $78 working tour was a complete waste of money, even though the tour guide was knowledgeable there was not 1 building he showed us that we could enter. The SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT locked all of the building from the public. The streets and what passed as sidewalks were covered in dog defecation, it was like walking through a mine field. Finally, you should have been more forthcoming to your customers about how disgusting Cuba is, and actually do away with this so called port of call.

I have been to Cuba twice, am booked to go back 2 more times. I love the country, the people, the food and the happy atmosphere. Hello? It is a poor country that has had dictatorship for many years. But the people are so friendly and eager to please. You are the ONLY person who has had a negative response to visiting Cuba. Maybe it’s not the country but the person reviewing??

If you feel that strongly about it, you should talk to RC to see if they'll give you a credit or a refund. The cruise lines are always willing to right a wrong whether they agree with you or not.

I am booked and very excited to go there. I have several travel books on Cuba and their history with pictures of not only the pretty spots but of the run down areas too. I know what they have experienced the past 60 years and even though parts are run down the culture and friendly people are what matters.

I think you are operating under a false assumption! The cruise line will probably never see you post. This is a totally separate site from the cruise line. The way your post is written it would be better to send it directly to the cruise line.

Apparently you didn't do much research on Cuba. Also this site is not read by the cruiselines. I have never seen such a negative review of Cuba before. Most people love the people and what they saw of Cuba. Guess you are just a very negative ...glass is half empty kind of person. You should have read up on such an amazing country with an amazing history and their huge struggle the past 60 years.

Sorry you experienced that. I went last July with Carnival and we had a blast. We did a very nice tour of the city with a dinner at a fancy restaurant. We then went to a rum and cigar tasting event. We finished off the excursion with a party at a boys and girls club like place in one of the neighborhoods. Maybe Royal Caribbean excursions there are not up to par as some of the other cruise lines.

3rd world countrys can be a shock to affluent cruisers . Maybe just a touristy place full of junk trinkets from china would be more to your liking
