Review summary

I am not pleased that royal Caribbean made me pay for a visa to enter Cuba. I am Canadian and I don't need one. They told me it's because I am on a American ship and it's required. I probably will not be sailing with royal carribean again.

Been on a lot of boats Royal Caribbean's a great line. So tell your friends if the boat leaves from the US port you may just have to follow some US rules

And I'm sure if she did need a visa and didn't have one, then it would have been RC fault too. and she would have been mad cause she wouldn't have been able to go. Take it or leave it. Maybe you should do better planning next time.

I went to Canada in August. I had to show my passport on the tour. Rules are Rules.

I also am a Canadian, I would tell starwarsmom that the Visa requirement should of been no surprise if she did her due diligence. I would also tell her that if she is so upset with the Visa requirement why did she continue with the booking. I do not think anyone held a gun to her head and forced her to take a cruise to Cuba. Her complaint is not the fault of the cruise line.

Since a Visa temporarily authorizes you to be in a country, then I'm sure it is required by Cuba and Royal Caribbean is just following the rules. I'm guessing it's that way with all cruise lines that leave from the US and not just RC. RC is a great cruise line and you shouldn't let that keep you from cruising with them again.

You should have been made aware of this by your TA or by doing due diligence before you bought the cruise. It's no secret. You sailed from the USA. You need a visa. It's 75 bucks. Deal with it or don't cruise to Cuba from the USA.

Guess you wont be sailing on any ship from USA then. Means room for someone else. I had to get a VISA to go to Cuba so grow some and get in the big boy part of the pool

The same rule applies to any ship, any cruise line departing from the United States to Cuba.
