Review summary

The ship is a little outdated. Wasn't too happy with the entertainment. There weren't any great shows. Captain's night could've been better. Wasn't to happy that we weren't able to iron our own clothes. You have to pay for that service whereas on other cruises you could go into a room and iron yourself. Wasn't too pleased with being charged for a 4day alcohol package when you could only use it for 3 days. That was a total ripoff.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was actually pretty good. I do however feel like we were ripped off. We were charged for a 4day drink package that could only be utilized for 3 days.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
It was really good for the teens. My son played basketball everyday and really enjoyed the teen room.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The DJs were great. The shows on the other hand were mediocre at best. I've been on cruises where there were Broadway quality shows and this particular cruise didn't have that and was a little disappointing to me.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My son loved the teen activities from basketball and the weight room to the parties.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Timothy was great with cleaning our room and helping us with all of our needs. Our waiters at the starlight dining room were great. Captain's night could've been better. Used to the Captain actually coming out during dinner and that didn't happen.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very tight cabin.

Ship tip

It seems like an older, outdated ship. They charged for a 4day drink package that could only be utilized for 3 days.

This was my 1st time cruising Royal Caribbean. I'm used to Norwegian and their newer ships. I just thought there would be a room to iron my own clothes but once again that's on a different cruise line. The drink package was somewhere around $63 a day for 4 days. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday great but Monday we're off the ship at 730 a.m. and therefore couldn't take advantage of the 4th day of drinks that we paid for.

The Dry Cleaning/laundry prices on RCCL that are charged are EXTREMELY affordable. For what I pay at home(Buffalo, NY) to have my Class A Uniform dry cleaned, pressed and starched are almost triple what I pay onboard.

Why couldn’t you use the alcohol package all the days?

Steamers aren’t allowed nor are irons. If you attempt to bring it on board it will be confiscated for the duration of the trip and you’ll be able to retrieve it at the end of the cruise. The purpose is to prevent over heating electrical outlets to prevent fires.

wkbryant65, you should probably call or check their website about the steamer, I'm not positive, but I don't think you can take it. You wouldn't want to have to throw it away at the port if they won't allow it. I called about taking my essential oil diffuser and although the lady had to ask her supervisor because it wasn't listed anywhere, I was still told I couldn't bring it. I may have gotten by with it, but it was a gift from my daughter and I didn't want to have to throw it out if they wouldn't let me take it.

Well I am cruising for the first and I have a small cloth steamer I purchased from hsn for my cruise. Since I am flying into Tampa 5 days prior on business.

You’ll find that no Royal Caribbean ships have a laundry room to iron. I would suggest Downy wrinkle release. Hang your clothes as soon as your luggage comes and give your shirts and pants a quick spritz, works like a charm.

Why only 3 days? Which day could you not use it?
