Review summary

I have only cruised on the bigger ships so now that I have gone on a smaller ship I don't think that I will go on the smaller ships again.  The only thing that went right was the main dining room allowing us to change to the second seating. But even that didn't go smoothly.

I originally booked this for a senior trip for my daughter and her friend, but they couldn't book it for them as they were only 18, so I had to go also. Then my friend wanted to come and bring her two kids only problem they were out of 3 person rooms.  So we had to book 2 more rooms instead of just one.  Her kids were under 18 but they let us book anyway knowing that and the day before the cruise they call and say they are not going to let her sail.  But if they rearrange us it will be ok, so we did what they asked after 2 hours on the phone while still at work trying to wrap things up for going out of town and then I reprinted the set sail passes.  Then as we were on our way to the airport they call again and say there are still problems but can rearrange us again and it will be ok, but we don't have time to reprint set sail passes, they say this won't be a problem and that royal caribbean will take care of everything and give us $50 credit per person, so we go on as planned.  Day of arrival at ship, no set sail passes, A VERY BIG PROBLEM, 2 hours later finally allowed to board not much before they cast off.  Credits not per person but per cabin and then divided up by adult cabins and we only found that out at the end because the credits were not in our accounts on arrival.

So they had rearranged us: My friend in the room with my child and her friend, her kids in the room next door in me in the room by myself down the hall.  Why not have my friend with her own kids in her room and my kid and her friend in the room next door?  My kid and her friend are both 18 and my friends kids are both minors. This made no sense and only got worse as we tried to pay for things and such.

I could go on for another hour but won't, I will say the credit per person was never given and that is just sad after all the drama they caused.  In all of my cruises this was by far the worst from planning to cruising to getting off the ship, yes there were problems there related to the room charges for my friends kids room.  They should have offered us $100.00 per person compensation and it still would not have been enough.  The only reason for the 2 star instead of a 1 star is because the food was good in the dining room and elsewhere and the room attendant was sweet.

used to all the options of the larger ships and did not think this was very entertaining.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
room attendant was great, guest relations not so much.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
very hard to find way around ship unlike the bigger ships that have a locater and route map to show you the way.

Cabin / Stateroom

Bathroom had a bad smell. Air condition hard to regulate.

Ship tip

Just don't go, wait until you can go on a larger ship.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
parking was $64 dollars for a three day cruise, another way to make money I guess they dont think you paid enough already.

Nassau, Bahamas

Disenchanted because of being late to the port and having to wait in line over an hour to get off the ship so all the onboard excursion goers could get off ahead of us.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
My favorite part of the trip.
