Review summary

This was our first cruise and the food was better then I expected.  The only problem was everywhere we turned there was money being requested.  Whether we attended the art show where free art was suppose to be given away or free lessons in the casino everything had a catch.  The free art give away required framing and shipping that far out weighed the fun of winning.  The bingo required purchases, the casino lessons required money outlay and every where we turned from tipping for the drinks (that we had already paid an unlimited high fee to have) included additional tipping requested fees.  With us not being novice cruisers, we didn't know the pitfalls of what we attended and all the gotcha techniques.  Hopefully next time we will be more prepared and aware of all the money pits and avoid those events.

We were very happy with the cabin and the cabin attendant was awesome. Again, we had no idea if we were to leave tips each day.

Ship tip

Be aware of the money pit events like the art free giveaways or the learn the casino games (stay out of the casinos because its a losing event)!. We had fun at the shows and the excursions not part of Royal cruise line. We booked one with American Airlines and it was the best one!

Gratuities are included in the drink package. I think the art show is a rip off and a waste of time

We get the drink package but take a stack of $1 Bill's on the trip with us. We give the bartender or waiter a dollar or two with each order to ensure that some gratuity gets directly to them.

It's like that on any cruise ships but you do have the option to say no thank you.

Oh wow so sorry everything seemed to be costly but typing is already included

If you bought the drinks package you shouldn't have paid any more gratuity on drinks. I never have. They give you a slip to sign but you don't need to tip extra.
